Feeling sick.. bad food choices or bug?
This weekend, for some reason I still haven't figured out, I ate horribly. Pizza, Fettuccini Alfredo from a restaurant with lots of bread, tons of Root Beer, candy... just junk food. I did have a sandwich on Saturday with turkey and lettuce.. that was probably the only good decision I made all weekend.
Anyway, I think the pizza I had last night is really what put me overboard. I was in the bathroom all night, and today I have a really bad sore throat and I just feel generally groggy.
It's not like I never eat like this.. or that I've been eating really healthy right up to this weekend, because I haven't. (Even though I keep trying)
But here's my question.. I wonder if this weekend was just too much for my body, and it's feeling like crap due to the lousy nutrition, or if it's because I've caught some sort of bug, and can expect my nose to start feeling stuffy in the next couple days. Either way, I know that leftover pizza in the fridge is the last thing I want right now!
since i don't eat like that i would blame it on a carb weekend if it was me! but if that isn't all that foreign of a diet to you, who knows.
maybe it was that.
and all the salt. thats a lot of salt if you were eating healthy.
i get chapped lips from that sometimes. maybe its why you have a sore throat.
eat some fresh cirtus fruits. it will clean you out and help kill any intestine bugs hanging out.
those minute maid o.j.'s with the vitamins added are REALLY good.
the multivitamin one is super smooth.
i like to drink that when i feel like crap.
Thanks, citrus does sound pretty good right now. I have some OJ and canned fruit I might just dig into once I get home.
Yeah, that alfredo sauce was really salty. I was pretty thirsty all weekend, and I think that's why I overdid it with the soda. So salt being a culprit makes sense. Time to get that water in!
And a carb hangover.. never heard of that before, but I like the term :) How long does that sort of thing last?
I've had a carb hangover after eating too much dessert & bread. It makes me feel groggy the next day and I usually have a headache.
If you ate tons of rich food that you do not normally eat, it can make you feel sick. I don't know if it's because you're body isn't used to processing so much saturated fat or what.
If you feel nauseated to the point where you can't eat any fruit, lick a slice of lemon. My mom taught me that and it seriously works on cutting the nausea way down.
lol
thats what i think of when i think carb hangover.
i start to feel better as soon as i start eating food thats good.
fruits pull the blood sugar up and then eat a bunch of veggies for the fiber(regulates blood sugar) , and low cals, and high water content.
perhaps veggie soup and garlic bread for dinner tonight with a big salad?
lol
I never really pigged out on the Halloween Candy.. I wanted to make it last for as long as possible, so I was pretty good at limiting myself!
I'm not nauseous (however you spell that). But I do have a nice headache settling in. Yeah, soup sounds good, too. I have some lettuce outside waiting to be picked. That would be great with some mandarin orange slices tossed in.. mmm Soup and salad it is!
