I have been eating so crappy the past couple of days and though I have been riding my bike, started my swimming class, and bought skeecher's shape-ups to walk around in I still feel like I am gaining weight because I eat so crappy.  I think it's because school started that everything is a celebratory thing or I need to eat quick or get a quick hamburger even though I know afterwards I will feel like crap.  I haven't been drinking as much water which could be an issue (my water bottle that I normally use has been in the car...waiting for me to fill it up).

I think next week I might do a water detox starting on Sunday and ending on Thursday (right before I go to my forensics retreat) so I can really flush out my system.  That or I get another (better) juicer so I can use that as a detox diet as well.  We will see how I end up doing.

Please give me some advice or encourage.  I originally lost thirty five pounds but have since gained five pounds back (the biggest gain since my weight loss).

I have had an odd couple of weeks that missed up my diet after lossing 35lbs i have gain 2lbs.  while I am upset, i plan to refocus.  I am allowing my body a break.  I run 5days a week, and I am strict on counting calories, so a break is good.  We are creating a life style that will last until we die, so we are not going to get every day prefect.  You will get back on track, and you will feel better.

okay, so maybe you need to sit down and figure out how you're going to handle this school thing.  I know I had to preplan not just lunch, but snacks too, to keep me from getting hungry.  or maybe you need a break and need to maintain for a little bit to get out of your funk?

hang in there!

hey there! i know its difficult to maintain.. i've been so stressed lately i've put on two pounds and we all know how much easier it is to gain than lose (unless your recovering from an ED). i can sit here and try to encourage you but really its up to you and its gotta come from inside. that motivation and everything. when you see something that you know you shouldn't have, why do you have it? theres something tempting about forbidden food. you dont need to restrict yourself like that. what i do to keep myself motivated to eat healthy is i ALWAYS carry something that will remind me of my goal. for example, everywhere i go, i bring the book "skinny bitch". it keeps me grounded and reminds me of how **** im gonna feel if i eat badly. you can sit and feel like crap but that will only tire you out, and when you're tired your body goes to the closest source of energy: FOOD. and usually, not healthy food. if we eat when we're sad, by filling ourselves up, we feel like we're also getting rid of that empty space and that bad feeling, whatever it might be. it starts when you let it, and it ends when you decide to get back onto the bandwagon. :) and if you dont get back on soon you might be exactly where you started, so better sooner than later. do what you feel you need to do, but just make sure it's healthy.

I'm in the place you are. I have been eating badly for about 3 weeks now and all the weight gain seems to be coming at once. What's worse is I'm getting married in 6 months and want to look good in my dress! You would think that would be motivation enough, but i'm like "oh, i've got 6 months!" or i just think the weight is magically going to fall off at the end lol...

Is there a friend at school, home, or one here you can ask to be a buddy to? Someone to help keep you motivated when you feel like something bad?

I am going to start eating better on Monday - kind of like a Raw food diet only with protein from chicken/fish - and i'm going to buy a lunch box to keep with me all day, so whenever i'm hungry - i have to eat one of my healthy snacks from there and not go to the vending machine or a fast food place.

So i'm right there with you and hopefully we can get out of this rut soon! Good luck :)

I know exactly how you feel, except I've gained 10 lbs since my original 35 lb weight loss! It is so so so so depressing and hard to get "Back on the wagon." I've yet to do it myself, but more power to you! A detox sounds great. I'm not familiar with any, but I think I may try one myself. I just wanted to give you some encouragement and know that you are not alone! You obviously did something right if you lost 35 lbs, so do what you did before and all will be well again, you just have to be patient. Good luck!!

Khodgdo,

Hang in there!  I just started this process about a week and a half ago and I'm still trying to get a rein on my eating.  I have been for a walk though and even did some light exercising.  I dream of being able to tuck my shirt into my pants and look all right!  I know that sounds like a small thing but I haven't been able to do that for probably 10 years!  I also would like to walk with out knees hurting... there's just too many good things about reaching your weight loss goals... think about all the reasons you want to lose weight and I think you'll be back on track and feeling good about that decision... have a good week!

Glorious Day!

i have the same problem i don't know how to eat healthy i eat with my family i am not the one buying the food and they wont buy good stuff so i end up eating stuff that makes me gain weight like junk food. and ill eat and I'm hungry an hour or 2 later i don't know what to do this had been depressing me. and i wanted to know if any one had any advice for me to help me get out of this rut. my weight fluctuates way too much i gain a pound i loose 3 then i gain it back what am i doing wrong. i don't have any health issues but asthma. i have been told to go to the doctor over my thyroid. that isn't the problem.
