Hello All,

Well its been almost 1 yr. since I satrted the calorie count journey.  When I first started I did so good, no sweets/treats and proper portion control.  Now it seems I'm more (too) lenient with myself!  I allow myself treats here and there, and my portions are getting to be too big again.  I'm not sure if this is because I feel more comfortable in my "new" skin and I understand calories etc... and how my new lifestyle works, or if its just because I feel like giving up.  My scale is SLOOOOWLY moving, and its really given my motivation a turn for the worst!  I still workout 30-45 min 4-5 days/week and I go for a walk with my kids every morning.  I just feel like I can't do it anymore I just want so badly to lose the last 60lbs. and its going to take forever :(.  I know this takes time, I'm just not loosing steadily anymore it feels like, and I'm so confused by my daily calorie intake! it says to lose 1.5lbs/wk. I should eat 2474 calories YIKES!!! that seems like sooo much :S I'm at moderate activity (so it says thats what I should be, I fit the description of it) I just need some motivation and help here I don't want to lose eveyrthing I've worked for so far! thanks.

75 lbs.

REMEMBER!!! You already lost 75lbs!!! that deserves some congrats!!  I find if i set mini goals it makes things easier. like say 5lbs or increasing workouts by 10 minutes. Little things add up don't get discouraged!!!

I think 75 lbs is terrific! You might just be in a "blah" place. As far as your calorie count goes, have you tried changing your burn rate to "sedentary" and then adding your exercise to it to see if they still recommend the same amount of calories to consume?

I did change my activity level to sedentary, and have been logging my activities. However the calories didn't change much only by about 150??? I don't konw does this seem like a lot of food???

I know what you mean about feeling like you can't do it anymore. I go through them times too. I have been at this for over 2.5 years I have lost 102 pounds and i have 8 pounds to go, which don't want to come off. When i am going through them times though I just take a break from it all. Don't over due the eating or quit working out but just let what happens happen for a month or so. There have been times that i have had to lose 5 pounds or so I put on during that time but I felt better mentally after just taking a break for a while. I don't know if this is something you would want to do or not but I will warn you that if you do take a break it can be very hard sometimes to get back into. You have to really want to lose the rest of the weight you have to lose. 75 pounds is great. You deserve a lot of credit for getting this far. You can make it the rest of the way. Just take it one day at a time.

i at least you're still losing and not gaining.  just take it easy and don't binge.

It's ok to have a treat here and there.  That is why they are treats.  You're doing great.  It's good you've noticed that you're back slidding a little but don't be too hard on yourself.  I admire your great weight loss!

Wow - 75 pounds.  That is fantastic!  I have just started this site and am sooooo impressed that you have been at it for a year.  Please, please please do not get dicouraged at this point.  You have done so much and are so close.  I look at you and want to switch places.  I have a tough year in front of me and have to do it while fat.  You are already skinny and can battle through this last part in your nice new body.  You must be proud of yourself.  I find it always helps to reward myslef so maybe a nice shopping trip with a bunch of new clothes will help cheer you up.  Just for motivation try on your old size.  You will be so tiny in them that you will be happy and see how much you have done!!  You are my role model and I hope to be where you are a year from now.
