it feels so good

Quote  |  Reply

I graduated college last year and went from being super active working and in school to sitting all day and being entertained a lot at my job and needless to say i gained some weight :( ( i went fron about 124 to 148)

I was going nuts about it and started doing little things like not eating the food that vendors bring into my office and working out more.  i started a weight loss challenge in the office.  I lost a little bit of weight and got down to 138

Well i got a free personal training session at my gym and decided to try it out.  i was shocked at what my body fat percentage was.  i was still a size 6 to a size 8 but the 34% body fat killed me.  I was athletic my whole life.  i used to be pure muscle that his hurt!

well one month into training my trainer did my body fat analysis and measurements and i had reduced all the dimensions on the pinch test by 1/3 to a half!!!! and in one month lost over 5% body fat!!!!

Last week my trainer told me that he knows he has nothing to worry about me with as i eat great, monitor my calories and percentages and i get my cardio in and that he expects to see a 1-2% decrease in body fat each week!  i got a little nervous......

Well last night i steped on his fancy smancy machine that measures your body fat as well as the fat weight, muscles weight and percentages of each arm, each leg and your trunk.  I lost over 2% body fat last week!  My weight is only 135 right now but from all the weigh ins and body fat analysis things we have done.  i have really lost over 12lbs of fat and gained about 9lbs of muscle.  OMG it feels so good.  My goal is to be 15% body fat and i am looking forward to getting there!!!!!

i love this site and i hope its bringing success and encouragement to everyone!

oh and i forgot, all my measurements are dropping like crazy.  clothes i havent worn in a year ( since i gained weight) i can wear again and bathing suits i havent worn since highschool fit and LOOK  awesome!!!!

i was able to put my skinny college jeans on from when i weighed 118 yesterday.  granted they dont look cute yet, but i could button them and get them over my hips.  hopefully a month from now they will be looking hot again!!!!

that really is amazing! congrats!

Congrats!  That is great progress!

What do you do for a workout and how often?

for my workouts i have been doing circuit training with my trainer twice a week.  i meet him at the gym, run a mile, stretch and then for one hour he kicks my butt.  one day we target back, legs and core and the next day its arms, chest and core.  however he still does work my whole body each session with the moves he has me do.  he mixes it up every week but i always do 2-3 different circuits that i repeat 3 times with a minute of cardio between each exercise.  after that i do cardio for 45 minutes.  those 2 days a week are long hard days, but let me tell you i feel awesome afterwards!

on my non training days i try to workout anywhere from an additional 1-4 days a week depending on my schedule.  last week i worked out 4 additional days but sometimes it doesnt work out that way.  i ususally do an elliptical machine, spin or kickbox for anywhere from 20-60 minutes.  i have the turbo jam series so i do that alot as well.  i ususally wake up and do the 20 minute turbo jam workout and half of the ab video ( 10 minutes) then when i get home i do the other half of the ab video and the 20 minute video again.  if i have energy and lots of time i do the 45 minute cardio video.

i'm really proud of myself.  this month was my birthday as well as several friends and family graduations and i didnt let those cake eating opportunities stop me.  i didnt tempt myself cus i knew how gross i would feel afterwards.  thats been my motivator. i feel so good after i eat well or workout so i just dont do it to myself.  i measured myself last night with my measuring tape and i lost more inches.  i'll update on friday after i see my trainer thursday for our weekly body fat and measurements.  for once i am looking forward to seeing my weight!

Wow! that is brilliant. You sound so motivated.

I wish I could get that motivated for exercise. Then again I tried on some trousers this morning that were too tight for a long time and they fit me comfortably! I haven't lost much in weight, but I can sure tell the difference in pictures!

Thanks!

yesterday in the middle of my workout my trainer goes " whoa stop!  i just totally  noticed how lean and hot you look"

i started laughing.  i was like whoa is this your way of saying i am less of a fat ass than i used to be.  he laughed

i have my weekly body fat analysis tomorrow and my monthly measurements.  i'll let you guys know how it looks.

congrats! and remember the human body was meant to move, so just keep movin' day in and day out, stay positive, eat a lot of veggies/fruits...do a bit of weights...everyone will drop lbs in due time! being active does wonders for both the mental and physical for each of us, plus it builds confidence.

ah i forgot to write like i said i would last time.  no point cus today i have my measurements and all of that AGAIN, so i will update them.

i started a weightloss challenge at work here a few months ago and according to our weigh in this morning i lost almost 2 lbs since last week!

Its all that running, rock climbing and kickboxing i hope :)

well my body fat percentage has slowed down however, the weight is dropping super fast now which is FINE BY ME!!!  since january (before i started working out with my trainer) i have lost 20lbs

we did my measurements and since April my waist is down almost 5 inches!

i actually had to get a size small in a fitted dress at forever 21 which was a BIG  accomplishment in my eyes.  hahahaha

i'm hoping i can loose at least another 10lbs by the end of august for this weightloss challenge/ all girls boat trip my company has going on.

we'll see how my weigh in goes on thursday.  so far i am winning!

i havent updated in awhile, but my weight is finally starting to fall off at a rate i am happy with.  for most of my life i was a solid size 6 when i gained weight last year there were a few 6's i could squeeze into but i was moving into the 8 and even 10 range on a few things.

I hadnt gone shopping aside for the dress i mentioned a month ago so i wasnt really sure what i wore.  My goal was to be a soild size 4.

well last weekend a girlfriend and i walked around the galleria and went into our favorite stores and tried on clothes ( she recently lost a bunch of weight too) and well.. I DID IT!  i am a solid size 4!  the only thing i needed a 6 in was Expresses super low rise tight jeans.  every other store i was a 4 in everything and in skirts i need a 2 in most cases.

when i look at myself i know i am smaller  but i feel since my proportions are the similar that its not that noticeable but everyone is commenting.  even the cute trainers at my gym are telling me how hot i look!  whoo hoo!

Last weekend i went bikini shopping and for the first time i LOVED it.  i even bought one of those sexy monokinis ( one piece with all the holes cut out).

Next week is our all girls boat trip and i am excited to have my ne wbody on the boat and cus so far i am winning the weight loss challenge and if i win i have money to go buy new clothes!

Good luck everyone!!!!

i hit my goal weight!  whoo hoo.  now i hav a new goal.  i am so proud of myself and glad that the confident girl i used to be is not  back with a vengance.  hahahaha

i put up a picture in my gallery from the boat trip.   the compliments just keeping coming.  of course the ones from people you want to notice are the best!  hehehehe

i cant stop smiling
