So I fell down the stairs a few days ago
All I can say is : Ouch
Big bruises all the way down from my shoulders to my knees
Anyways - my back is *really* sore (as in - so sore I can't sit up straight)
I took some mild painkillers, but they don't really do much
My right shoulder hurts so much it feels like it's burning when I try to stretch
Any suggestions on how I could get rid of the pain?![]()
Bummer. You've been to a doctor? Physical therapy is a good option to look into. Massage. Alternate ice and heat packs. Time. When the pain eases, stretches. Patience. This is when you find out how many muscles there are in the body and from personal experience, it is not fun finding out. A warm bath, when you can get into it. Sleep is good when you can get comfortable enough to get some. Prescription painkillers probably will relax you and help you get some rest and for now that is just what you need. Take care and I hope the pain goes away quickly for you.
I didn't go to the doctor...
I think I'm gonna wait a few more days and try to relax - and see if it feels any better

Any suggestions on how I could get rid of the pain?
Lots of alcohol?
Sorry, that sounds really painful...hope you didn't do any serious damage!
Once I was hiking and fell onto the side of a rock with all my weight on my thigh. It took about 2 weeks for the pain and bruising to start dissipating. That was about 2.5 years ago and my muscle still has an indentation where I hit.
Its Thursday now. I hope you feel tons better. If not, for sure find a doc.- this from a person who only goes to the doc. when I just can't get out of it. Falling like that could have seriously damaged something; caused little fractures etc. Rule outs can be a relief- to rule out broken parts can be a tremendous mood lifter. Hot and cold applications can make your achey parts feel better and get the swelling down. I so hope the pain is going going gone. Take care.

lol
I don't drink :)
And yeah - I know what that's like... I have an indentation on my leg too - the size of a coin... From when I accidentally kicked the table a year ago.. I didn't even break the skin but it's still there

It's been 5 days - I'm gonna wait until Monday - and if it isn't better by then I'll go to the doctor (phobia...I haven't gone to the doctor in almost 2 years)
I don't think I've actually broken anything - it feels more like I just badly bruised most of my back
I slipped down 3 stairs and my hand smacked into the rail, I didn't go to the ER because I thought it can't be broken. I got an xray 3 days later, it was broke, and they needed to re-break it to set it. =( It needed pins and a plate.
I hope you didn't break anything or do anything serious but you should go to the doctor, besides you will likely get better pain killers.
good luck.
I broke a toe once, went to my doctor only to be told "It didn't look broken"...
Though, as soon as I showed them my other foot I got sent to get an x ray
---
I stopped taking the painkillers...
Most of my back is a bit better
Except my left shoulder blade... Still hurts a lot
overall - feeling better, but still in pain
Glad you are feeling better. Sounds like more then a bruise but I do think you would know if it was serious expecially without any pain med.
Feel better!
