I've lost 23 well now 22 lbs by using this site, going from 175 to 153-154.  When i saw my weight get down to 152 I thought I didn't need to use this site anymore well I was wrong.  Lately, i've been eating like total crap and feel disgusting.  I really really need tips on how to get back into the swing of things and meet my real goal of 145.

BTW: I am 16 years old, female, 5'8", BMI of 23.3

Hello!  I remember when I was sixteen.  I'm twenty now, so it wasn't too long ago that I was your age.  Here's my answer:

Take a good, long look in the mirror and realize what you've done with the help of Calorie Count.  Pat yourself on the back, and say, "I can do this!"  This will spark a little more motivation, and will give you the ooompf to climb back on the wagon.  In fact, it might have you ahead of the wagon!

For the month of May I had the same problem, having gone down from 198 to 168, and then realizing I could do this all on my own. Well, I couldn't.  I have to keep counting Calories until I'm at or past my goal weight, before I take a step off the wagon.

When you get to your goal weight, don't jump completely off the wagon, though.  It hurts.  Continue eating consciously and with a mental note of your Calories, to maintain.

I hope this helps!

Inhale and think happy thoughts.  You can do this.  You did it once before so you can do it now.  You know it works.  Man, I wish there was an instant way to drop the pounds.  If I ever find it, boy, will I be rich.  But there isn't.  So start logging your food again.  Start weighing again.  Start exercising again.  Start eating better stuff.  Stop beating yourself up.  We're human and we screw up.  Now you know not to make that mistake again.

hey,i looked at your profile, and saw that you've tried to restrict your calories to 800cal/day at some point. I'm guessing, that you *might* have been setting somewhat unrealistic goals for yourself to keep to, and so when you get off those diets, you'll be more likely to binge. To shed off those last 8 or 9 lbs, try to stick to a diet and exercise plan that you know you can keep! (A random shot would be around 1800cals/day and 30~60min of exercise?) Also, try to look up on more healthy alternatives that you might want to snack on? Vegetables, fruits, granola, oatmeal, frozen yogurt, etc. taste so good! (: good alternatives to chocolate are hard to find though, so you might want to have those in tiny bite size packs so you can control how much you eat more, or you might want to have chocolate flavored protein bars (but that's not half as good as the real thing. heh)

The bottom line is, you should be restricting, but not so much that you end up feeling crabby and like you're starving. And it's not too difficult if you switch to foods that make you feel fuller but contain fewer calories than what you're currently eating! Whatever you eat during weight loss should not be something that you'll only be able to do one off, but something that you can stick to as a lifestyle. It's pretty pointless to lose 50 pounds through unsustainable means, and gain it all back eventually when you revert back to your normal eating habits, no?
