Quote  |  Reply

Hello everyone -

I goofed big time.  A lot of things were going on last year and stress levels were high and I just quit.  I've gained back 1/2 of what I lost!   Today is day two back on the plan and back on the treadmill so wish me luck!

I just have to say that I've been shocked by some of you! You kept going and your weight loss is inspirational! Duke lost so much and looks great! I hope I stay strong and not let emotional crisis be my downfall. Holy cow did I pick up some bad habits.

I fell off too  :(

I know how you feel. Today is day two of food and day one of treadmill. The first couple days is SO HARD.

Keepin my fingers crossed.

good luck. yesterday was horrible for me. after 7 months of geting progrssively better at my food choices i spent the whole day yesterday grabbing whatever food was in front of me and devouring it... i hope that stops today....

Thanks Veggiedoodle!  That's such a cute name!  We are in the same boat - cool!

I thought I was going to have to walk when I got off of work but I know I won't do it. Once I'm off I have to cook dinner and make sure my son does his homework, etc.. so, I'm going to wake up at 5am and do it. zzzzzzzzzzzzz  It's so early but once I'm awake it does make me feel good the rest of the day. Once the weather cools I'll go with my son to walk the dog at night too.

Anyway, good luck girl!

We have the exact same story. I am at day two and doing okay. Good luck.

Moonbay - love that name too!  Why the hell did I pick jennifer the pennifer?? The name my brother called me as a child to torment me.. LOL

Yep, I think it was around 7/8 mths when I fell off the wagon so be careful!  It's easy to do!

Wow, I can't believe how many day two'ers there are!  We really have to be tough since we're starting so close to the holidays! Gads (I normally don't say Gads in daily conversations... )

Let's keep each other strong... good luck to you all and ME!

Geeeeez!! Good luck with those morning workouts! You are a far stronger woman than I hahaha  Tongue out  I do better when I go to the gym at lunch every day.

It's funny, I bring my gym bag with a clean pair of clothes every single day, and haven't been to the gym in like 6 months!! But dammit, that's gonna change today!!

Good luck to everyone!!  Laughing

Hello,

Today is my 1st day back on the wagon, only after about a week off. lol.  I started back today in accordance with the alamanac.  I am like you guys though, I sometimes just wont work out.... I did a two mile in home walk this morning and will do it again this afternoon, and probably run this evening,... I have big goals in my mind. lol

Good Luck to all!!!!

Good Luck to all you guys!  Don't be so hard on yourselves. You are taking control now and that is all that matters.  Just an Idea,  why not set up a group for yourselves.  Support is a wonderful thing.Sealed

I am in the EXACT same position. I lost a BUNCH of weight last year and gained half of it back.

BUT. I'm a week in. and feeling good.

Stick to it, ladyfriend!

Good Grief!  You mean I'm not alone?!  I'd lost 40 pounds and gained back 20 over the last year!  I'd kept it off for over three years and then a little stress hit home and it was like, "Ok, calories are out the window.  What's in the fridge?"!  I've been working out for the last couple weeks and feel stronger, but have only lost a few pounds.  I'm determined to get this weight back off because, honestly, winter's coming and my jeans don't fit!  That sucks!  Do you guys (and by that I mean girls, or whoever) want to have a weigh in day where we're held accountable and/or encouraged to tread forward?

Apes

Hey calijodouble!

I have a similar thing going on with a girl from work (who is on this site too). We were going to weigh in on Mondays? I'm in though.. whatever day works best for majority.

I think Jennifer has done an amazing job...problem is she had me tagging along. I really havent been motivated enough to do anything about it. I want to lose but not want to exercise, not yet anyway. But after i have eaten healthy for a few weeks it will kick in, and then it will be sort of fun.

So here's the problem I can't seem to go home and not PIG out, that's the only time I want to eat like crazy I go all day and then go home and have my way with the refrigerator. By the time I'm don I have eaten 1500 to 2000 calories just at night.

So anyone got any suggestions on how to stop the munchies at night time?

It's been about a year for me as well, at least the counting calories part. I fell off that wagon after friends visited from the UK and we ate out constantly! I am also 2 days back on the counting now. I have kept working out for most of the year because of back problems (minus 5 months when my mum died...) I have luckily kept up with the work outs  because it helps with the chronic pain. Unfortunately I gained back 8 of the 25 pounds I lost last summer ! My total goal was 50 pounds so here goes again.... BTW, thats the 50 pounds I have gained in the last 4 years since I got the back injuries... I can't wait to be back to my normal weight again.

My problem isn't the working out, it's the food issue. I was always able to eat whatever I wanted because I was an avid cyclist and I would just burn so much of it off. But now that I am no longer able to be as active as I would like to be I naturally can't eat as much. I eat really healthy but I also rrreeaaally love my snacks... So this isn't so much a diet thing as a complete lifestyle change.

I like the idea of a weigh in day. Any day is good for me as well.

I feel for you.  (I actually fell off the wagon for about 3 years!).

That's one more thing I love about CC.  I'm constantly discovering that I'm not alone ... and you're not alone either!

OK.  You screwed up and lost control and gains lots of lbs.  But instead of giving up and eating your way into an early grave (not to mention the qualify of life issues in the interim), you have once again decided to pick up the pieces, climb back on the wagon and regain control of your life!

So congratulations on making that important first step!

good morning all!!

day 3, and still doing ok. watching the biggest loser premiere last night really helped. i actually got off the couch and did some stretches and exercises with my 4 year old during the show. it was fun!

how is everyone doing?

p.s. i think weighing in once a week would be great! any day works for me.

Good morning guys!

Smile4Brenda, I'm the exact opposite.  I start with working out and because I work so hard, I will NOT eat those chips in the cabinet!  Last night I made homemade bread and it smelled soo good fresh out of the oven but I told myself how hard I've worked and that eating bread at 11:30 at night would only make me feel like crap in the morning.

What helped me lose weight in the past was becoming a total food snob.  It was looking at food as fuel for my body instead of saying "I want that donut and no one's gonna stop me".  I just look at that donut and tell myself that it will take me in the opposite direction than I want to go.  I don't know if this will help anyone else, but that is what helped me maintain for so long.  It's an everyday lifestyle, not just a diet.

How do you guys feel about Friday weigh-ins?  That way, you're motivated and encouraged to maintain over the weekend when things are so busy and you have more time to give in to unhealthy choices.  We could either post weight or lbs lost to date.  Does that sound okay?

I don't know what to tell you Brenda - it's harder to be accountable for yourself when you're alone with food.. I know.   Come here and read other people's stories for inspiration and I'll check up on you.  Get rid of the junk at home and have nothing to munch on but good stuff.. actually, my breakfast and lunch have been the same all week so I put that in. I make a weekly meal planner so I'm able to input my dinner as well.. then I know exactly how many calories I have and after dinner, get to think of what I can have.

Anyway, I know you like competition so post your weekly weigh in on here ok? Friday is good for me.  Should we start a new post?  Call it 'Back on the Wagon Gals?" lol

Hey Veggiedoodle. Day 3 on the treadmill was rough this morning.  I woke up at 3:55am with a sore throat and then my dog must have sensed that I was awake and she woke up.. so I had to take her outside. I laid back down at 4:30am but couldnt' sleep knowing my alarm was going to go off at 5am. I drug my feet and have been coughing and did NOT want to walk... but I did it! :D It's always a good feeling to defeat that little voice in your head telling you to sleep in or to eat the edge off that 1/2 eaten brownie.. haha
