WOW!!!

Can anyone relate to this scenario?  ...weigh 175, take MONTHS to loose 23 pounds, to then gain it back to 171?  AND, i workout 6 days a week, and have done so for around 17 years...i think the sweets won this battle, and i really don't feel like  i have lost the will to do this...it is just at night, and when i crave sweets, which is a real problem.... what do i do??  Can anyone suggest anything??

The only way to kick a sugar addiction (and you have one!) is to spend 2 difficult weeks not eating it at all. It will be hard but at the end you'll have a revelation. You don't need the bad sugar (you can have all you want in healthy foods, especially fruit, I found red grapes helped me kick my sugar addiction, as they're very sweet). The first week of sugar withdrawal will be hard but keep reminding yourself that the prize is worth the effort and it's only a few days of hardship. You'll be amazed to see those cravings disappear and with them, the constant fascination with food. Go cold turkey - I promise it will work. Good luck! (By the way, there will come a time down the line, when you'll be able to have a sugary treat occasionally, without going straight back into addiction mode)

I agree with susanep. This is the best way to do it. I honestly do not have any gravings for sugar. I had to do this because of my diabetis and I have been sugar free for a little over 2 months now. I was even a pepsiholic drinking 2 64 oz  fountain drinks a day. Sometimes more. And the grapes really do the trick as long as you keep it at serving size.

Sweets are my weakness too.  I keep bags of frozen blueberries in the freezer, so when I get a craving I defrost a cup in the microwave and eat those.  It is crucial for me to keep cookies, brownies, etc. out of the house completely.
