Any Fellow Ontario Dieters???
Any Ontario dieters out there?? Doesn't being cooped up get annoying. I'm sick of riding a stationary bike and lifting dumbells, i don't get it i'm new in here and i thought i was doing well, but my cravings are starting to get to me. You see i have a back disability so no longer work...a single mom with a 15 year old son Kyle, and a kitty "Angel" and i love and adore both of them....since i turned 52 on Feb28th i have gained 4 lbs.
I would love to talk to anyone in ONTARIO, I HAVE NOTHING AT ALL AGAINST AL THE PEOPLE FROM WHEREever but is anyone out there from ONTARIO??????????????So this is my ??? if i'm sedentary and my daily burn is 1760 and i eat around that i shouldn't be gaining.....right??? I have been eating around 1000/cals a day and exercise 3x week or daily enough to accomplish a 1000 cal deficit per day..as my goal is 140lbs by june...lol....if i don't move the scale how i am going to get there...wha
anyway lately i have been doing other things and not riding...it's hard darn near impossible for me to figure out the calories burned this way...like going grocery shopping and carrying groceries up 3 flights and putting them away..should i be sedentary or light activity....I"M CONFUSED AGAIN!!
so i keep it at sedentary and only add the workouts, biking shows me on it what cals. ihave burned and the lifting for 35-40 of dumbells is an estimate from here.
I'll be glad to get outside an get the bike club i started going it's called B.F.H.C.(biking for health club)it's the one thing my back doesn't object to!!I'm Nancy....bye 4 now..............
... the Greater Toronto Area (specifically Richmond Hill / Hamilton)

Im with you!!
Ladies all: It's nice to get such a turnout. I am from Barrie, hey british vixen do you ride through Sunnybrook park at all?? . I use to live at Eglinton and Mt. Pleasant, Roehampton....so Sunnybrook is just over on bayview...love that park...use to pet the horses,....play with my son there and pick fiddlheads....not to mention we use to have campfires all through the winter..i don't know if u can still do that there ..but it sure broke up the winter..anyway i know t/o and Mississauga, weston, rexdale...all of it..oakville, meadowvale, clarkson, port credit..etc....very well, i don't have a car but i'm going to ride the go-train and bring my bike down and ride that Sunnybrook park..
Is it still like that or has it changed..????????????Sunnybrook park in t/o.
For all the rest of you ladies....hi from windsor all the way to kingston and ottawa....boy won't it be nice to see...green..again
Speaking of green....i know that green tea is really healthy (organic) in fighting cancers, blood pressure, arthritis, etc...but has anyone seen the new article from the www.sixwise.com/newsletters site about chlorine and green tea...check it out...???? Isn't that always the way they say something is good for you, and after you indulge then they say wait a minute.....
Anyway i have always been a person that believes in moderation....bye for now.....Nancy
Windsor here and YES yet another snow storm coming this weekend UGHHHHHH
I SO want to try jogging outside
~H~
I'm from Ontario too... live in the GTA and loving this snow... no, no, I jest. I can't wait for it to go away so I can start jogging outside! The treadmills at the gym can get boring real fast.
Then again, with all the snow I haven't exactly been so good with getting to the gym these days lol.
Have you all noticed an increase in 'american' diet foods lately? Things I've read about on hungry-girl.com are starting to become available in Canada! I'm excited.
Hi short-cake, haley, indiscreet, cjamie, britishvixen and all this is great.....we need green grass......this snow has got to go....i swept off my patio this AM as my kitty Angel say the sun and wanted out......weeee....aren't cats funny when they get there paws wet....he loves human tuna..he won't eat anything else so i sneak 2 cans of cat food tuna in with 1 can of human tuna he'll eat that.....but no beef...he likes to snack on human food.....i don't have the heart to say no..loke alfalfa he loves it...
everyday i make a salad and he comes running i just tried the sundried tomato and oregano(lite of course) but i still prefer my balsamic vingrette....and ranch...
so what's new does anyone go to Sunnybrook park in T/O....???????...can you still have fires in winter....in the pits????
bye 4 now..Nancy
Hey Hey fellow Ontarians( Sheesh is that even a word), I am from ontario as well, used to live in mississauga but i just moved to the boonies( MILTON).
I cant take another snowstorm ARGHHH, I have been counting down to spring since feb, cos i cant wait to get my roller blades out, and explore Milton
Britishvixen: sounds good now all i have to do is take my bike to the station, hop on the go train, gigure out where to get out ride over o sunnybrook and find you...piece of cake...lol....
it does sound good though but tell me can you stil have fires in the pits or is it gone now???
my mother is buried in Mt. pleasant cemetary, i don't have a car so i really haven't been done in years, i hate to admit that but if you run by plot D #1216 Evelyn Edwards it's my mom, a flat stone n the ground, she is suppose to get perpetual care.....but you know if you don't go often....dad lives in port Dover and he's now 86 so the travelling is to much for him...but i think of her al the time....i feel bad i haven't gotten down in awhile.it's just we didn't have the go-train before..just got it again....she's near yonge and merton if you were to run in from the yonge st entrance go to the left and stay right on that path you'll see "U" then "C" then "D" right on the left of you she's in front of a tall pine behind some tall stones.....but i am sorry if i am imposing, i just thought if you were running through....
my uncle murray is in there too he's at plot Q 153 Murray Edwards and he's right near that same entance on the left as you come in..strange eh.
Anyway i would love to come down to sunnybrook this summer but you have to let me know if it has changed.....can we stil have fires in the fire pits etc....for A BBQ
I SURE HOPE Spring gets here soon..man this snow.....
Well finabus, kakati2, and hamiltons own jennisonamission....have a great weekend.....i need to workout haven't all week but everytime i watch biggest loser, somehow it inspires me again.....bye girls.Nancy
SW Ont here and yes I'm sick of the snow too......
HI! I'm from the Niagara area (St. Catharines)
In response to your original question... "So this is my ??? if i'm sedentary and my daily burn is 1760 and i eat around that i shouldn't be gaining.....right??? I have been eating around 1000/cals a day and exercise 3x week or daily enough to accomplish a 1000 cal deficit per day.."... if you are only eating 1000 calories/day that is not enough! Your body will store as much as it can and you will actually gain weight even though you aren't eating much. If you want to maintain a 1000 calorie deficit, you need to eat more AND increase your activity. You said your goal is 140, so obviously you currently weigh more than that. Not sure how tall you are, but I would increase your intake to maybe 1400 cals. You should never eat less than your BMR. Here is a great thread that can help you figure out what your BMR is, and how to calculate how many calories you should eat at your activity level: http://caloriecount.about.com/forums/post/768 84.html
Good Luck!
And nice to meet some fellow Ontarians! :)
So, is everyone ready for the storm this friday/saturday?
The weather network is saying 30-50cm of snow.
Haven't we had enough already?!
