I would like to try something with the Group.

I would like to create a thread that has the flow of a "Daily Chat" type thread.  A thread in which we can come in and talk about anything or nothing in particular.

Just a way to come in and say HEY Y'all without the need to start a new thread topic or to jump in on an ongoing topic.

So here is The Fellowship Hall.  A place to meet around the coffee pot and chat about the weather or chat about the neighbor's dog that barked all night.

Grab a cup of coffee and tell me about your day.

I couldn't wait for my son to get home!  He arrived safely, kissed me on the forehead and went to bed! This was at 2:15 PM this afternoon.  Now I will have to wait until tomorrow to hear about his adventures.  I guess they pulled an all night-er.  Danny's Mom and Danny popped in to say hi but said they couldn't wait to get home and take a long nap.

Andy and I are just vegging watching a couple of movies since he is off work tonight.

We had some excitement a few miles away.  Some man decided to go in a dentist office and do some shooting.  Simi Valley is in the news tonight!

Your son made it home? From where?
That's so sweet that he kissed you on your forehead. Kids will never be too old to show their parents affection.

Have a great evening!

~Maggie

You are right, we never get to old to show our parents affection.  I still kiss my mother and father.

We should give them flowers while they are here, they will never know how much we loved them when they are gone.

Where did he come home from?

Mark

Good Evening Group

I hope that you had a Blessed Day.

To the answer to the above questions.....  John Michael's friend (Danny) had a 21st birthday.  John Michael went with Danny and his family to Vegas.

Norma Jean -- So glad that John Michael made it home safely.  You and Andy have raised a very fine young man.  Did anyone get hurt with the shoot out at the denists office?

Thanks Denna for filling everyone in.  I thought I had a prayer request out there.  I guess I was just posting on Facebook my anxiety of the "empty nest" and letting go.  Since John Michael turned 21, its been hard.  We have given him all the tools he needs to go out into the world.  He is a very responsible young man.

Yes - from what we've learned about him, you've done a great job raising a smart, caring, thinking, loving, responsible young man.

I'm still a few years from an empty nest but I am feeling ya - both of my sisters are there - I'm still trying to the get the youngest through 10th grade.

Ah! Well now I know Norma Jean. As a mom, I know what you're going through. My "baby" is 25 and I was so sad when she went off to college. Well, she's home now... says she won't leave again until she gets married (fine by me!) which will be in about a year.
You know what I love? Whenever my kids boys come to visit (35 and 27yrs old), they always give me a kiss and a hug when they see me.
I do the same to my parents.

Kids.....what a wonderful gift from God!

~Maggie

Norma Jean, you're a member of Facebook? So am I. I also have a "farm" in Farm Town. It's a nice place to be....*wink*

~Maggie

Norma Jean, when did you sign up with Facebook?

Denna~ How are you this evening?

~Maggie

Wouldn't ya know it....  Went to church tonight......  Maybe 3 hours after I made the Prayer Request post....

One of the first few songs that the congregation sang was....... [ video ]

More Than Enough

My God is more than enough
He can supply all my needs
He is my El Shaddai
He always looks out for me
Jehovah Jireh, He is my God
Jehovah Jireh, He is my God

All of the earth is His
And the fullness thereof
Everything that I need
You can be sure of
Jehovah Jireh, He is my God
Jehovah Jireh, He is my God

So why should I worry
'Bout the highs and the lows
The ups and the downs
When by my faith I know

My God is more than enough
He can supply all needs
He is my El Shaddai
He always looks out for me
Jehovah Jireh, He is my God
Jehovah Jireh, He is my God

Note:  No, this is not my church.  I just found a video so that you can enjoy the music along with the words.

\o/  Denna

Praise the Lord!! I'm so happy for you Denna.....I just know that you're going to be fine!!! Praise the Lord!

Greetings!  I finally started to see some progress in the swelling going down in my feet but then noticed my "booboo" on my toe is red.  So I put neo-sporin on it.  Woke up now this morning with a terrible sore throat.  My goodness!  Hope you all are healthy out there!  This crazy weather hot to cold to hot again - put the heat on then the a/c - no wonder I have a sore throat!

Maggie - I haven't figured out the farm yet on facebook, I need to sit and watch the tutorial.  I have been on facebook maybe a couple of weeks.  Beachwalker (Patti) sort of pushed me in that direction just before she left from Maine to visit California.

Denna - what a beautiful song!  The Lord seems to lead us with the right words when we least expect it.

Have a great day everyone!

Good afternoon everybody!

Doesn't it seem like Saturday? Hubby's not having to work because of the 4th of July. Then I went swimming at my parents and the traffic was horrendous like everybody and their mama was out shopping! I was a little confused when I saw what my mother was watching on t.v......her soaps! "What? On Saturday?" lol!
I'm telling you it feels and looks like a Saturday!

Norma Jean, I hope your boo boo gets healed and that goes for you throat too! As for facebook, I finally signed up about a month ago and some of my cousins roped me into Farm Town. I really enjoy that silly game! In cyberspace I'm a farmer who happens to be a millionaire! LOL! I hope you enjoy it too.

Well, guess I'll go do some farming......... Wink

All my days seem to blend together.  It's Andy's weekend to work - he will not be off until Tuesday night.  My son is still recuperating from his "mini" vacation.  On the 20th he will be heading to San Diego to work a full week at The Comic Book Convention for a friend.  He came home with huge blisters on his feet - new shoes and did a lot of walking.  They will probably heal just in time for San Diego.  So this time he will be gone a full week.  I teased him saying, "I was good in not calling you or texting you.  You blew it when you called me from the airport saying you were on your way home."  He just laughed and said he respected me for letting him do his own thing.  Danny's Mom kept telling him "you better call your Mom - she is going to get upset."  We had an understanding -  I told him go and have a good time - even if there was a death - he would find out when he got home - what could he do from Las Vegas anyway?

I'm glad you are a good "farmer" Maggie - I am so confused - I will have to find some time to focus on it.

Good Evening Everyone.

Just wanted to wish everyone a very happy and blessed weekend as we celebrate Independance Day.

My Independance Day Celebration:

John 8:32 Ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.

John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

Because of that old rugged cross I am free indeed.  When everything around is in chaos, I look to the cross and remember that I am free not because of but in spite of everything around me Jesus has set me free.

Romans 8:18 I reckon the suffering of this present time is not worthy to be compared with all the glory that shall be revealed in us.

So I can sing Lord because of who you are, I am Free

Because of who you are

Because of who You are, I give you glory, mmm
Because of who You are, I give you praise
Because of who You are, I will lift my voice and say
Lord I worship You, because of who you are,

Because of who You are, I give you glory,
Because of who You are, I give you praise
Lord, because of who You are, I will lift my voice and say
Lord I worship You  because of who you are,

Jehovah Jireh, my Provider
Jehovah Nissi, you reign in victory
Jehovah Shalom, my Prince of Peace
(Lord I worship you), because of who You are,

Jehovah Rapha, you’re my healer
Jehovah Shammah, always with me
Jehovah Sabaoth, strong deliverer
And I worship You, because of who You are

Because of who you are I give you glory
Because of who you are I give you praise
Because of who you are
I will lift my voice and say
Lord I worship you because of who you are
I will worship you because of who you are

God Bless everyone and Thank you Lord for allowing me to be truly free from the life I thought I had everything, until one day I realized I had nothing and was trapped in a life of bondage.  Thank you for your patience you had with me, to allow me to see the error of my ways and even when I didn't know you, Jesus still died for me to set me free, Thank you thank you thank you and I praise your Holy name, for saving a wretch like me.  Allelujah!! Father I love you and magnify your name, because I should not be here today, but by your grace and undying love for me, you gave me another chance.  Thank you Thank you Thank you

My name is Rachel I am trying to get down to 115. I currently weigh 146. I am 5'2. I have a bit of a sweet tooth. Any suggestions?

Rachel, you are not being ignored.  I just don't know how to tell you how to handle a sweet tooth.  Different people handle sweets in different ways.

When I started my journey, I declared a fast of sorts for cakes, cookies, ice cream, Chocolate (mainly chocolate).  I had gone with out said sweets for about three weeks.  Then I slowly reintroduced them back into my diet at a controlled basis.  For example, to reintroduced chocolate, I used Hershey Kisses.  I recorded the calories for 9 Kisses in the Snack area then allowed one or two pieces at a time throughout the day.

Okay thank you very much...I guess its all in moderation right?  Its going to be hard but definitely worth it. =)

Right now a lot of people are celebrating the 4th of July and away for the weekend.  Check the other forums in Place of Refuge and How Our Body Works - you might find some ideas for substitution for your sweet tooth.

I know replacing your "sugar" treats with fresh fruit helps a lot.  I sometimes have a Fiber One Bar - Oats & Chocolate  if I have a real sweet craving.  I am more a "salt" person - that's why I have a problem with my sodium intake and retaining fluids.

Another person would be gatorlorraine who has been without chocolate for over 3 months now, I think?

By the way - nice picture Rachel!
