Female 5ft 4 140 pounds stats 35-28-37 GW 125 pound...anyone with similar stats?
is anyone else in a similar position to me. I just thought it would be useful to chat to people with similar age/weight and stats
You have really low goal weights. I can't imagine myself being less than 125lb but then I've never been lower than 137lb.
I've only been doing this for a few days and I feel so much better already. Have decided not to weigh myself for atleast the first week just to give my body time to adjust to a new way of eating. But already my stomach looks a bit flatter. Maybe once I reach 125 I may still want to losemore but 125 is my limit for the time being.
Yoho - wow well done for the weight loss so far, that's fantastic! As long asyour shape is changing and you can see the difference in inches etc the scales are really irrelevant because if your exercising yourmost probably building muscle aswell aslosing fat which would explain why your not losing 'weight' on the scales.
Keep it up.
Hello all!
I am 5' 4.5" and weigh about 138 right now. I started at 141 in January. I haven't lost the weight very fast but I am eating healthier and looking to get down to 130 by mid April and 125 by mid May. We'll see how it goes.
I could really use some buddies to keep in touch with. The more support I have the more likely I am to stay on track!
I'm 5' 1'', 151, 36-31-40 and I just started on this site to track calories yesterday, although I started working out and eating better last week. I'm already down one pound (yay me!) My goal is to get back down to 130 where I was after doing WW two years ago. Stress eating put most of the weigh the weight back on this past year.
And it's been great reading everyone's post and very reassuring as I restart my healthier life.

I'm 5"5 and roughly 135 lbs, 25 years old. . I'm trying to get down to around 125 also. I've been working out somewhat regularly for about a year. I go through spurts where I'll work out 4-5 times a week for a few weeks, then I'll slack for a week and try to get started again. For the past few weeks though I've been working out 4-5 a week and trying to eat better.
I think the reason I haven't been seeing results is because I find it really difficult to not eat out or drink on the weekends. I'm going to try to start to cut that down at least and increase my cardio time at the gym. I'm doing 40-45 minutes now. 30 eilliptical, 10 on treadmill.
Another thing that throws me off is that my weight varies between 133.5 and 137. I've settled at 135 because that's where it usually is, but it sucks when i see 133.5 and I think I've made progress but then later on in the same day it's back at 135. My calorie goal is 1400 a day. Hopefully if I stick with that I'll start seeing results. I'm getting married this year hopefully in August/September and I like those slim fitting dresses, so hopefully I can reach 125 by then.
:oP
I'd love to chat and hear what you're all doing to drop those 10 pounds or so!

According to an article I read in Cosmo, your weight varies about 5 lbs throughout the course of the day. You're lightest in the morning after just waking up and not having eaten anything yet. Then throughout the day after eating you and drinking your weight will go up. Whatever you do don't weigh yourself right after eating unless you want to be extremely depressed, lol. The article said if you want to be accurate with weighing yourself you should do it first thing every morning when you wake up, after you use the bathroom. That way there are no variables and you can be consistent. Judge your weight loss on that number.
Good luck!!
Hey we virtually have the same measurements. I'm 5'4" tall weigh between 136-138lbs (down from 182lbs) and I'm 35-28.25-39. My goal weight is 120lbs or anywhere thereabout.
I am also 5'3.5" and weigh around 125, and I am stuck at losing the last 5-10 pounds. I am 22. Would love to chat...About a year ago I was weighing in at around 105-110. I am starting to thihnk that every year I should expect to gain a few more???
Hi "ps0u30d4" I am 5'4'' at 139lbs and trying to get to 125lbs mark as well. I am trying the "Prevention's Flat Belly diet book" which caters to eating healthy meals 4 times a day every four hours. The book claims that you can lose weight without exercise but I believe that exercising and toning makes a big difference. I just started a couple weeks ago and was able to lose 2 lbs so far. I googled and saw this post from 2008 but was curious to know if there was any progression since? Any additional advise would be helpful. Thanks!
yep, exact same weight and goal
I am 5'4 and for the past year have weighed around 145-150 lbs. It's frustrating because I was a lot thinner previously and it feels like I have to work twice as hard as I did a year ago to be the size I am. I'm 27 and I even stopped taking birthday control pills because I felt like it was having an effect on me. I have always been muscular with hips and a decent sized behind, but it feels like my body for some reason tries to store any and all fat. It's frustrating. My waste is probably between 28-29 inches. I run quite a bit a go to the gym and lift light weights at home. Does anyone have any ideas or how to beat this? It's so frustrating. I don't feel like myself and want to be back in the body I had before. I don't own a scale and am a little afraid to buy one. I hate obsessing about a number and care more about how I feel and how my clothes fit.
I am going to start monitoring everything a little more carefully and hope to reach into the 120's. I eat pretty healthy, shopping only at health food stores. I try to eat only veggies or fruit for breakfast and a healthy lunch, with little carbs from bread. I only drink water and brewed green tea with maybe one cup of coffee in the morning. I eat in for dinner mostly making chicken, veggies and some salad or sometimes a protein smoothie if I want something light. Any ideas you have to get my body jump started would be great. My mom mentioned to me that some of the women in my family have problems with their thyroid... I wonder if this could be an issue?
Hi.
I don't know if anyone reads this page since it was last posted in 2008. Although I do see some recent replies from this month (Oct. 2009). I was just posting an update from my last post in July 2009 which is when I had similar stats. I was able to reach my goal of 125 lbs now from basically exercising 5x a week, eating healthy and maintaining a journal of my calorie intake. I think my food intake and types of food really helped me shed the pounds. I looked online and calculated my BMI and calorie intake and used this for tracking daily. It was really hard at first because when you start lowering your calorie intake (in a healthy way, of course) your body feels it and at first you kind of feel light headed or there are just days where you want to keep eating. Eventually, your body/stomach adjust to the change. I do have that habit of wanting to eat that desert or drink that alcohol beverage(s) from time to time so that is why it took me a little longer to get to where I am at today. You can't totally deprive yourself from the bad stuff otherwise, you'll likely give in to it all one day and gain back what you had lost. I guess that is what cheat days are for. I currently set my new goal for 118 lbs. It will be a challenge since I heard that the lower in weight you want to go, the harder it is to lose. I also need to start weight training to establish a more toned look so I know that will likely increase my weight due to the muscle built. We will see. I think the only other thing for those who want to lose weight is that you need to be mentally motivated to want to excise and maintain a healthy diet. I found going to the gym hard at first and now I ensure that I make it a must for most of my days. I do have days where I am just lazy though but I try. If I take too many days off from the gym, it is really hard to get back. I try to tell myself that I didn't get to where I am for nothing.
If you are interested in tracking your calories in a journal, I had purchased the "diet minder" or "Body minder" which has all it all laid out and is easy to use. I bought my journal from Barnes and Noble.
I hope this helps for those inquiring. Good luck to reaching your goal. :)
