Ok girls, we've had our first weigh in today July 30th. Out of the 40 people that have said they wanted to join this group, only 7 of you haven't weighed in. We are excited to hear about your success so please let us all know.
Of the members who have weighed in - our cumulative group weight is 7,293 which means that if we all weighed the same we'd each weight 221lbs:-)

Good morning everyone! I actually uploaded a "before" photo of myself, and its pretty embarassing. I never take photos below the neck, so I guess maybe this is theraputic in a twisted way. All in the name of progress. Happy hump day!

cupidsvictim-- I get that having a different body than you're used to can be upsetting. But from a stranger's POV, you look good. You have a nice shape and you don't look 'big' to me, just average. Plus, of course, you're on here losing weight, so you'll be smaller before you know it--and it'll be good to see how far you've come.
Thanks Caz, that's very nice of you. I've kind of let the weight creep
up on me over the past few years. I'm not nearly as neurotic as I used
to be, I don't let it control my life, but I'm making some positive
changes now. I'm letting strength and health be my motivation now,
instead of just looking good. Still, self criticism is a hard habit to
break.
Happy Wednesday to everyone. Hurray we are half way through the work week. So some very exciting news for me. I have found a walking partner. I am so excited. It will be nice to have someone to help me stay motivated. I hope everyone is doing well. Keep up the good work. :)

Sometimes you just need some new clothes. I bought two new shirts this past weekend and it really perked me up.
anitambar- That's great that you found a walking partner! Working out with a friend helps so much. You kind of motivate & can push each other.
All- Remember during our first thread I was saying we all need to get together on a beach somewhere? Well, I was talking to my best friend last night and she is trying to lose weight now too (I actually referred her to cc and she's using it now). She told me that if I reach my goal weight (175) by August 2009, she's going to treat me to a trip to Hawaii! I know two years seems a long time away but for how much weight I have to lose (over 200lbs) that's pretty reasonable. I'm totally excited!!!
I would encourage you all to set up long term goals with rewards to help motivate you to keep at it.

I just wanted to share a thought... so I have been really watching and counting calories for just a week now... and now I can't stop! Like, I used to stop at McDonalds and grab "just a snack wrap" or something... like, everyday. Or I would stop at a gas station and pick up "just a candy bar" or "just a Starbucks Frappachino" ... I can't make myself do it anymore. Its amazing. I can't stop looking at the calories. I haven't decided if this is a good thing or a bad thing. For me, I think it's a good thing. I always used to try and justify food. I'm on my way to being over that.
Does that happen with anyone else??

musicjunkie101 I so have that problem.............I use to never look at the labels or calories now that's all i do...........I find myself telling my sisters...........Do you know how many calories are in that? lol but when i want to go out to eat every once and a while I force myself to just enjoy myself and forget bout the calories but it's hard.
Haha! I'm also an avid label reader. I informed my boyfriend that the
engery drinks he loves so bad has 220 calories in it! He said he was
going to cut back on those. All that sugar at once can't be good for
him.
I do it all the time. Tell people how many calories is in that or if you eat this. I do at lunch with my co-workers. I count for them and myself. They think I am crazy because I know them all by heart. I really don't, I know the basics. It can be annoying!!!! Anyways...I don't think it is a huge problem I am just being aware of what I eat. I also do it when my boyfriend and I walk to the store for dessert we are looking at all the labels on the candy bars and ice cream shocked at how much they are. He gets the ice cream pint with 1200 calories in it and doesn't even care though. I am stuck with a square of dark chocolate or a half a cup of ice cream yogurt. Oh well such is life. AT least I will be able to find someone good looking if we break up. =) Just kidding.

I do it too, all the time. The nice thing for me is that if I do go out to eat or I'm invited to dinner, I have a rough idea of how many calories are in different foods and can gauge what I'm eating without having to know exactly how it was made and what's in it. I can make an educated guess.

Good morning all! I was "bad" this morning and checked the scale, which
was a bad idea. Hasn't budged, but I'm going to keep working out and
eating right and hope its just water that will be gone by monday! I
have been drinking a ton of water and think I had a bit too much salt
yeaterday. Happy Friday, and best of luck this weekend!

mini goal: down 8 lbs for august & go to the gym 3 times a week each week this month.
i love cc and i finally feel like i am getting the swing of things. i just went out to buy a kitchen scale today - i think i need to work on my portions.
