One last questions... So I used to start my pill packs on Sunday, but since I am skipping my sugar pills this month, I will just begin my pill packs on Wednesday from now on since the sugar pills start today?

It won't change the effectiveness of the pill, correct?

FIRST MESSAGE:

Hey girls.. I guess I'll start with a little background information!

To start off, I am allergic to tampons.. 3 different brands tested-- allergic to all 3.. Something about the cotton or something? Whatever, doesn't bother me! Haha..

I am going on vacation next Friday with my fiance (I am taking him to our family condo in Florida for his birthday), and I want to be able to swim and enjoy the pool and everything in my suit with out having to worry about my period!

Bathing suits and pads = not very compatible!

I am on Yaz birth control.. and I know several people that have skipped their period intentionally before just by starting a new pack of pills on the day they were supposed to start the "fake"/sugar pills.

Anyone tried this before? Let me know! I appreciate any feed back!

Yeap, it means your pill packs will now start on Wednesday, and it won't compromise your protection at all.  It's just a little calender shift.  Your body doesn't know the difference. :)

I'm guessing you are talking about just skipping your period? I do this sometimes. I am in a long distance relationship so when I actually get to see my bf I don't like to be on my period. I usually just skip the placebos altogether (I am on Yaz as well) and go right into the first pack. I've never had a problem. BC keeps you from ovulating. When you get your period, it isn't a true period because you haven't actually ovulated. Your body thinks you are pregnant. At least, this is what I have read/been told. I admit I may be wrong.

Sometimes, when I skip my period, I will have spotting throughout the month. It is extremely annoying, but not nearly as heavy as a period. I called my gyno about it, they said its fine my bc is still working.

Have fun on your vacation! Soak up some sun for me, its cold where I am!

Call the doctor!  They will give you instructions on exactly how to do it.  I did it for my wedding, and the doctor explained exactly what to do.  It's not bad or anything.
