Fending off The Freshman Fifteen...

For those in college, or those quickly approaching it, beware!!! The Freshman Fifteen - the bane of college calorie counters everywhere - is ready to take a new group of victims on campuses nationwide this fall!

For those who have felt the pain of the 15lbs of cafeteria food, hanging out in the dorm, not having your highschool extracurriculars, and just being too darned lazy to get out and about, join me in losing that weight! :) As an upcoming junior in college, i'm still waging war against the last 10lbs - who's with me?!?

So weigh in today...150.6.  Not the best, but I could have been better yesterday.  It was a little disappointing after the 149.2 I saw yesterday, but that was because I was dehydrated from drinking Monday night, lol.  Ooohhh well.  On a more positive note:  the weather here has been beautiful the last few days (well, up until today), and I got to go running outside twice! :)

Work-Out Goal for next week: Calisthenics, maybe the gym?, and keep walking around campus

Work-Outs since last Wednesday: Walking around campus every day,  calisthenics and free weights every night (about 20 min)


You know, this is usually the part where I complain about the fact that I never get to the gym... but since I've started doing these calisthenics/weight lifting every night, I'm really seeing my body start to change a little! I think that this good, 20min each night sort of workout is a much better idea for me... I get my cardio walking around all day because I almost never take the bus. Then, I get my weight training at night! Its so much easier to find 20 minutes during the day than it is to find an hour and a half.


Well, even though TTOM is more or less over, my weight didn't go back down. But... this weekend was my 21st! I didn't get totally slammed or anything, but I definitely had some drinks, went out to eat, and ate a couple pieces of ice cream cake here and there... lol. But your birthday only comes once a year, right?? And I was 124.5 on Monday - most of the weight has already fallen off :) I like to think that a little bit of the increase is the muscle I'm gaining too from all of this evening work out stuff.

Drinking's great, lol - I was 148.8 this morning! :P

It also makes me too nauseous to eat much, but unfortunately I usually make up for that by eating plenty in the evening when I feel better.

Aaaaaaaaaaand still 148.8 today.  I was down to 148.2, but then I cheated a little yesterday...still, I'm not complaining, considering I'm down from 150.6 last week! :)

I went to Whole Foods earlier today and now my once barren fridge is full of grapes and clementines and organic yogurt...yum!!  It will be SO nice to actually have snack food in my dorm room besides granola bars and pretzels.

It looks like the birthday eating/drinking didn't get me too bad :) I'm maintaining right around 120 and feeling really good. I bought some new pants the other day and wore them for the first time yesterday... I walked around half the day thinking"What is it that feels so WIERD? Something isn't normal..." and I finally realized... My thighs don't rub together when I walk anymore :P I know that's a really silly thing to notice but... little victories, right? :)

ok I know its not wednesday but my weighin for today is 150 even! :) So I've gotten down to my post christmas weight...January and february have just been really hard for me to stay on track, so my birthday present to myself is getting back on track! yay! five more pounds to go. That should only be five weeks, I can totally do this :)

 

Sorry for missing last week... I was deathly ill with the nasty flu-ish thing that is going around campus so I wasn't out of bed at all for close to a week. :-(

Lost .5 lbs since 2 weeks ago

Work-Outs since last Wednesday: (I'll do the week before I got sick since I didn't do ANYTHING last week.) Walking an average of 3.0 miles on campus with 20 lb bookbag 5x/week; went to gym 3x and worked out for about an hour each time; did Latin salsa DVD 2x

 

I was 147.6 this morning, down from 148.8 last week!  And it's TTOM!  It's like my body is finally figuring out what's going on, lol.  Yay!!

150.8 and its TTOM, so not bad, I'm starting to lose again but I want to get back to that 150 that I saw on sunday!

 

So I waaay overdid it with the alcohol this weekend...we'll see what happens with my weigh in this week...

I just turned 21 last week...so we'll see how this alcohol thing goes for me, I don't think it will be too bad but I did get a six pack of Bacardi silver strawberry (YUM!) for the heck of it, It to expensive for me to do regularly though!

Spring Break is little more than 10 days away! I'm kicking it into gear and trying to watch my needless intake. I'm still around 1500cal/day, but less junk. So hooray! Hope you're all doing well, and I'm sorry I missed weigh in last week... I've started an internship that has be working 10 hour days Wed/Fri, so its hard to get on unless I do it at lunch! :) Happy Birthday, Michelle! :D

My weigh in was 148.6, up a whole pound from last week...that's probably because of all the drinking I did this past weekend!!  I also kind of went on a stress binge yesterday :/.  I've decided to really try to lay off the drinking though, so hopefully that won't be a problem anymore! :)

Hey ladies! :)

I'm sure everyone is gone for Spring Break, and I hope you're all having a great one! I didn't weigh in this week, but just to record it before I go on my cruise tomorrow, I'm at 122.0 (and TTOM'ing). So I'm hoping I don't gain too much :P 6 days on RCI :) I'm pretty excited!

I am definitely in with you on this one.  I am 18 and chunky.  caloriecount.about.com says I could be at my goal weight by July if I lose 2 lbs a week. I plan on accomplishing this by walking a lot and eating extremely healthy.
