Fetal Movement Question

Quote  |  Reply
For the past month or so; I thought I had a soccer player or a karate champ taking residence in my belly!  But, since yesterday; there has been a decrease in movement.  I just started my third tri.  Is there any logical reason for this?

Note-  the only thing that has been different in my diet is that I've been drinking water instead of Diet Coke.  Do you think the lack of caffiene coud be the reason?  I'm worried!  I'm going to call the doc tonight.  I feel fine-  no cramping or whatnot.

:(   What could possibly cause that?  She was active today on the train coming in to work this morning.  But still, not as much and not as strong.

She is runing out of room!  Movements will definately feel different in the 3rd trimester because her space is getting cramped.  Also if she turns so her back is out you will miss a lot of her movements because they'll be on the "inside" if that makes sense.  If you are worried or you notice a significant change you should drink something highly sugary like non-diet soda or juice and lie down on your left side and count how many movements of any kind you feel in 1 hour.  If its less than 10, call your doctor just to get checked.

she's back!  but in a totally different side of my body LOL-  now fierce as ever but on my left side.  lina you're right-  she did shift-  but now she's rockin the spot again-  crazy things that preganant ladies worry about!

I hope that your child isn't as violent as I was while in the womb.  I was a really big baby (born 11 pounds 15 ounces and 22 inches) and kicked my mother so hard that I cracked a couple of her ribs.  Best wishes to you and her.

Wow!  She's strong; but not that strong!  no cracked ribs here!  Thank you for your warm wishes!  I can't wait to meet her!

If your in your third trimester she doesn't have much room left anymore.  But you still should be feeling movement.  You can do kick counts like someone else suggested.  Drink some Orange juice and then lie down and see if she starts kicking!! I never had that problem as soon as my little one started kicking he never stoppped!! LOL  He is 4 months old now and moves contantly.  If your not feeling any movement call your doctor they will want to do a non stress test i would think.

Clarice

she's back to her normal self since my post.  which was a relief.  I had called my doc and had counted kicks-  i got about 12 in an hour without having to drink/eat anything.  last night I had a huge peice of steak and she was going wld in there!!!  I actually got a little nervous!!  10 more weeks to go!  The movements are less frequest; but harder

I thought you weren't supposed to drink caffeinated beverages.

One cup of coffee a day is acceptable.  But I would ask your dr. first.  Mine gave the go-ahead to have one cup a day.  Starbucks Skim Lattee olny has 130 mg caffiene in a small one; and I was advised up to 200 mg is OK.  But, like I said-  ask the doc first!
