I usually eat 25-30g a day, which is about what I try for I guess.  I don't really count and worry about it so much, I seem to reach that pretty easily.

If you get your five-a-day fruit and vegetables and several servings of wholegrain foods then you'll get plenty of fibre in your diet.  The benchmark is 25g.

I get around 75g a day!  FIBER ROCKS! :-D

Looking over my averages, it looks like I get around 45ish grams a day. o.O  I really had no idea I was such a fiber junkie.  I don't actively /try/ to get that much fiber, but it seems like all my favorite foods are high fiber (tons of fruits, veggies, oat bran, whole grain sprouted bread, etc).

It's actually kinda funny, but "added" fiber makes me sick (like when a company adds chicory root or something to boost the fiber content) but I evidently have no trouble consuming naturally occurring fiber in my common eats. xD

K-loo, the amount of fiber you eat is impressive!  How do you manage to achieve that, if you don't mind my asking?

25 to 35 grams a day.  Any more and my tummy is in turmoil.  I get mine from whole grains, flaxseed and other seeds and nuts, beans & lentils, vegetables, and fruit.  I've never taken fiber supplements.

I try to only eat foods that have tons of fiber...for breakfast I eat 2 servings of special K protein mixed with 1 serving of fiber one cereal...that is about 20g.  I eat a fiber one yogurt, one apple, and a 100 calorie bag of popcorn for snacks during work everyday.  Then for dinner during the week I eat a high fiber/low carb wrap....15g of fiber in that!  I change the insides, someday's it's turkey, someday's eggs, and some days it's PB and J.  I pair it with a salad that is MOUNDED up on a HUGE dinner plate and I put about 3/4 of a cup of chickpeas on it.  And I eat a huge bowl of melon with it as well.  There are actually days where I get 100g of fiber.  I like to snack on my wraps plain sometimes...at 80 calories a wrap it makes such a great filling snack!  That is pretty much what my diet consists of.

Wow!

I always thought I was obsessed with fiber!  I usually get somewhere between 30-40 grams...but I've never come close to 100g!

One thing that's great about fiber is that typically high fiber foods are low in calories, so if I'm getting discouraged or tired of counting calories for the day (or just down on the fact that I'm limiting myself), I focus on something positive, like trying to eat enough to reach my fiber goals!  It's just a weird little psychological trick I play with myself, so it's not oh, I can only have 1250 calories today, it's how can I accomplish eating 35 grams of fiber (and no, i'm not reaching that goal through chocolate cake, although I wish!)

I vary between 30-45.

I have times when I have trouble getting 25g.  I'm getting better though.  We switched to whole wheat pasta and that's helped a lot.  Fiber One bars help too but I'm looking for a subsitute since they're loaded with high fructose corn syrup and high maltose corn syrup.

Average 50 to 65.  If you're looking for fiber AND protein, eat some lentils, awesome food.

I eat anywhere from 30 to 50 grams on a daily basis - yes I still have bathroom issues... but that's just cause my intestines are effed up! ah ha!

50 to 70 grams a day -- I eat two servings of my homemade "medicine soup" every single day. It's basically dried beans and tons of vegetables/olive oil/spices. Each cup has 20g of fiber!

I'm actually not sure! Probably enough though, my digestion is fine and I have fruits and veggies and wholegrains daily. And sometimes, fiber bran.

mmmmm, that sounds good...would you mind sharing your recipe! :-)

Well, yesterday I had about 54 grams without doing anything special to get it that way.

(i lurve me some fiber)

Usually between 40-60 grams.

Usually I eat about 40 grams of fiber. The most I've ever gotten was 100 grams, but that was very unusual for me, because (as an experiment) I was trying to get enough calories by only eating fruits, vegetables and nuts. :P Needless to say, I was a bit blocked up afterwards.

Generally between 45-50 gm of fiber.  I LOVE fruits and veggies!!!

Sure! Here's the base recipe which I mix up each week with whatever produce is on sale at the time. The extras in the soup can include red cabbage, spinach, butternut squash, sweet potato -- really whatever you want. I'm also no chef, so the recipe would probably taste even better if a real cook or chef added their own spin on it. The base recipe comes out to about 130 calories, 4g fat, 33g carbs, 20.5g fiber, 10.5g protein and 300mg sodium per 1 cup serving:

2 tablespoons olive oil
1 medium onion, diced
1 bell pepper, diced
2 celery stalks, diced
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon ginger, minced
7.5 cups water
1 16 oz package dried beans (I switch between black, pinto and kidney)
1 teaspoon lawry's seasoned salt
25 grinds black pepper (not sure of measurement, I just grind my mill lol)
1 tablespoon cumin
1 tablespoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
1 tablespoon mixed dried italian herbs
Any fresh herbs you want (I throw in a few sprigs of thyme and fresh oregano)
Juice of 1 lime
Massive handful of chopped cilantro, chopped
1/2 teaspoon table, kosher, or sea salt (optional)

1. Soak beans overnight. Rinse and drain in a collander just before you are ready to cook.

2. Heat 2 tablespoons olive oil over medium high heat in a large soup pot and saute onion, bell pepper and celery until softened (about 4-5 minutes).

3. Add garlic and ginger and saute another two minutes, until fragrant.

4. Throw in the beans and water and stir well. Turn heat to high in order to bring everything to a boil. While waiting for the water to come to a boil, add the seven seasonings (from 'lawry's salt' down to 'any fresh herbs'), of which two are optional (the fresh herbs and red pepper flakes).

5. Once the water comes to a boil, turn the heat to low and put a lid on the pot. Simmer for 90-100 minutes, until beans are soft.

6. Once the beans are soft, use an immersion blender to puree the soup to your desired consistency. For me, it usually takes 4-6 pulses going in a circle around the soup pot.

7. After pureeing, add in 1/2 teaspoon of salt, juice of one lime and handful of cilantro. Stir to mix, and enjoy!

**I add in my extras about 5-20 minutes before the soup is done. It depends on the vegetable itself. For spinach, I can just add it in after I have pureed the beans and they will wilt into the soup.

I probably eat tons of fiber. So far today, carb-wise, I`ve had a 1/2 cup of tomato juice (with pulp&seeds), 1/3 cup of uncooked oatmeal, 1/4 cup zucchini, half a whole wheat pita, 2 large peaches, 1 cup steamed mixed veggies (in soup), a green pepper, a cucumber, a tomato, 1/2 a red beet, 1/4 head garlic, 3 graham crackers and 3/8 of a large watermelon. That`s just breakfast and lunch there, mind you.
