Fiber Gourmet Pasta Rocks!
I am sharing this out of care for my fellow CCers. I was a little worried about ordering this pasta since, if I didn't like it, I would be out $30. You have a to order a box of 10 bags minimum, which is about $30 with shipping. HOWEVER, I know now that I will probably go through these 10 bags in a month! I only purchased the regular short-cut fettucine and can't speak for the other types. Nevertheless, I just want to give my review in case others are interested in ordering but worried about committing to such a large purchase without testing first.
I used this stuff last night to make a delicious casserole with turkey sausage, asparagus, and cheesy cream sauce. I used an awesome cooking light recipe (though I doctored it a bit) which turned out to be 292 calories per serving. I was happy and full with one serving plus a salad. But more I literally could not tell the difference. My bf, who admittedly is not very observant or picky about the difference in my new healthy cooking and my old fattening cooking, agreed, and went back for thirds. The difference in calories between regular or even whole wheat pasta and this stuff is terrific: 210 calories versus 130. But the difference in fiber count is amazing. 20 grams of fiber in one serving!!! Anyway, I don't work for the company or anything :) I'm just happy and excited to have found an alternative that makes pasta something I can eat with more regularity.
Reason: Moved from WL to Foods forum
I'm not sure if there is any left, but yesterday they sent out a 40% off their fettichini pasta. I guess it got a little too much fiber mixed in a batch, so they're selling it for less.
I LOVE fiber gourmet patsa. LOVE LOVE it. I bought a case of 12 and it's going to last me forever.
Here's the 40% off link.
Thank you! I got it today and it was dinner. We had it with a cream tomato sauce that I saw someone mention on this forum. Just a a couple of cans of diced tomatoes and 4 wedges of laughing cow light. I had one meatball but it really wasn't necessary as the pasta WAS delicious! That and a salad of field greens and light blue cheese dressing and I was a happy girl!
I also did a version of a hungrygirl recipe using the reduced sugar vanilla cake mix and a can of pumpkin. I added pumpkin pie spice to the cake. I didn't use the cream cheese layer on top but topped it with 2 TBS of cool whip. YUM!
Thanks again. I got a really good deal on this with the 40% off link!
i'm looking forward to trying it and posting my review.
