Fiber One Oats & Chocolate
So today I have received my free sample (I can't resist free stuff
). After I ate it I was still hungry It is a glorified candy bar, with 10g of sugar and fun ingredients like HFCS and High Maltose Corn Syrup (that is a new one to me). The "chocolate" chips are basically chocolate flavored sugar pieces.
I honestly don't know how people can eat them for snacks to keep themselves full. Personally I rather have a bunch of strawberries with one or two pieces of 72% or bitter sweet chocolate. Anyway that is my biased review.
UD
100% agree.
UD, this is not related to your question. sorry.
I remember you told me about your fav. muffins but I forgot the name. You usually order them online. Could you send me the website again?:)
I really like them, but yes, I figure its more of a last-ditch option that is better than candy.
i.e.- I went to the movies the other day and had one rather than a box of sno-caps. I think it was a good sub.
NOT good if you really are hungry, used to keep a box of em at work and go through 2 a day! (FYI- the pb flavor is my fav..)

Well it wasn't a question, just my biased review.
Anyway I think you are talking about muffins that are sold in Trader Joes, which is where I buy them. Now they are relabed as TJ brand, but originally they were labeled as Zen Bakery muffins. Their website: http://www.zenbakery.com/ I don't think they are sold online. I did post about the bagels that are sold in some grocery chains, those you can buy online: https://westernbagel.com/ My favorite is Perfect 10 bagel.

fiber one bars have a lot of chicory root extract which is an appetitie stimulant. i'm always looking for something else as soon as i'm done with one. but they are delicious.
That explains a lot. I eat them all the time and I'm always hungry afterwards =(
Maybe I should just eat chocolate which has the same calories and doesn't make me full neither, but taste better!

Depends on a chocolate. If you are talking about most commercial ones like from Hershey or milk ones then yeah, since they are mainly just sugar with chocolate flavoring. A good quality dark chocolate is actually quite filling. Look at the labels, if the first ingredient is sugar it is not a chocolate.
UD
Yes. I agree. They really aren't that good for you. But man, the peanut butter and oats is so tasty! I think if you wanted some sweet/dessert food, this would be a better option then say, a doughnut. But I don't think its very good for everyday snacking. I too would rather have the strawberries and a couple of squares of good quality dark chocolate.
I've never had them before but they do look good. (: The only thing that stopped me was the 10 grams of sugar and they look to small so I know I am going to want more then one afterwards. I'd rather stick with my baby carrots as my snack. Crunchy, nutrious, low calorie, whats not to love?
I am stunned about them having appetite stimulant in them....Grrrrrrr! I have them around for a treat...but like it has been said....they make me hungry after (I thought it was just me) Out they go!
I use them as a snack and I haven't had any issues with them causing me to be hungry afterwards.
I like them because one bar is 36% of the daily recommended fiber.
I don't see how people can eat them either. I think they taste awful. And one of the ingredients is shellac! I am not too keen about eating bug resin that can be used to finish wood. x-P

Thanks, UD. that is what I needed to know:)

You should really get your fiber from naturual products such as fruit. Check out this video explaining why I feel this way.

Although this may be true I still get lots of fiber through Kashi Go Lean Cereal :)
I like them. :D Especially the Caramel ones. Actually, those ones taste exactly like dessert. But 9g of sugar versus 40g? And fiber, calcium, fairly low sodium... And it's easy to throw in my lunch. I've tried making my own granola bars but it doesn't seem to be much better health-wise. And it's really kind of difficult to get enough fiber from fruits. . . I make smoothies which add a ton, but otherwise it's nearly impossible.
High fiber from bars always seem to upset my stomach. What I've been snacking on in which I LOVE are the new Chex Mix bars. The turtle ones are amazing and I just bought the chocolate ones and they are just as good! Highly recommend!

oh dear! never tryed the bars after reading that i don't want to.
the cereal doesnt have that chicory root does it?
I loveeeee Fiber One bars. especially the peanut butter ones. I've never noticed an increase in hunger after eating one. maybe because I eat them as a dessert and when its done no more eatingg. and I don't know about the upset stomachs. I'd probably just say that your body's not used to a high level of fiber
