Fiber over-dose?
Oh crap.
Soooooo, without even THINKING, I just downed about 16 ounces of those Shirataki "noodles". That's pretty much 16 ounces of pure fiber, right? I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that they were 100% indigestible fiber.
Am I gonna die? Am I gonna wish I was dead? Maybe they are a different kind of fiber, so it's no big deal? Should I try and barf them up before it's too late?

I have a package in front of me -- in Englich:

So probably like 8 grams of fiber? If you are unsure drink lots of water as fiber can dehydrate you if you don't have enough since fiber leaves the body with water. It will also be easier to poo it out (TMI) as not enough water could lead to constipation.
I HAVE DONE THIS NUMEROUS TIMES! you are not going to die! If anything you did your body a world of good because fiber is so very healthy for you! You might just feel a bit bloated and gassy, but you will be fine! Drink so camomile tea or pepper mint tea and relax!
Did you eat them plain or type topping did you put on them? I am always thinking of new ideas to serve my yam noodles!

So they aren't actually 0 calorie per 3 oz serving? I guess the nutrition facts on the label are a little off. Or maybe it varies by brand :P
giasbash: I looove sodium, so I used a top ramen seasoning packet to season them along with extra salt. Since you're on caloriecount, I'm guessing you're prolly too health-conscious to enjoy something like that. Sorry I didn't have something yummy to suggest to you. Hehehe.

I usually get around 80g of fiber, there has been times I've had 200g and not a thing happened.
I ate home-made low fat chili paired with a ceaser salad last night. Don't know if it was the beans or the combo of beans w/the salad. Lets just say that I've spent a lot of the morning on the potty. Tummy is not very happy right now!!
be sure not to over dose on water aswell. i know the last reply to your situation said to drink lots of water. they are right but only to a certain extent. be sure not to over do it with the h20 as u can shut your system right down bc of the shock. The body can adjust and compinsate but, not on the fly. i wouldnt worry too much about those noodles as if they were made to be eaten they are gonna be digested. your body might have to work a bit harder but it will happen. throwing up will cause more harm then good and binging on water...............not the best.

They were a lot less fiber than I thought, so I feel silly for freaking out now.
The recommended amount of fiber in a day is at least 25 g so I'd say you're just fine.
