Fidgeting

Quote  |  Reply

I also posted this in another forum, so sorry if this is the second time...

Okay, so I fidget all the time. Like, through all my classes, I bounce my legs under my desk. I also do this when I'm doing homework. Even right now! How many calories does this burn? Does anyone know?

I really need an answer because if it burns more calories than I think it does, then I need to eat more.

Advice/thoughts appreciated!!

It does burn calories but I heard that it isn't a significant amount...

why do you do it, do you know? Stress, boredom, discomfort?

If you do it for all the time your awake it can burn about 400 calories daily, or 36 calories an hour.  36 doesn't sound like a lot, but it does add up, its about 432 in 12 hours, so yes it can be a significant amount of calories burned but it's incredibly difficult to be sure how long and to what intensity you have fidgeted.
