The Fight of the Century: Pop or Soda?

Alright, folks, I want a nice clean fight. No biting off each other's ears. No calling each other buttmunch or dingleberry. Keep it clean. Mild mocking is allowed.

So..

Which is it?

Pop?

or

Soda?

Geez, HK -- dontcha know -- it's all coke

I grew up calling it, and still do, soda.

My mom likes to tell me a story about the first time she visited a city outside of Texas -  she asked for "soda water", and nobody knew what she was talking about.

Yeah, in the south it's all just "coke".  And at Pizza Hut and Arby's they always have to ask, "Is Pepsi ok?"

Here's another question: Sack or Bag?

In the south, we just say scrotum.

I either call it Soda Pop. . .or Soda.  But, it is never just Pop.  I would sound funny if I just called in Pop. After all, I live in Alabama.  You call it Pop here and no one will know what you are talking about.  In AL it is either Coke or Soda.   But, usually Coke.

It's Soda.
So-Duh.

Pop is the man living with your Ma down in that shack you call a home ;)

I say soda, but being from Massachusetts, some of my relatives say "tonic".

phord:  My fav in the South is Grocery Cart.  They all call it a buggy.  Thats drives me batty!

FTF are you sure you're not really from New Zealand? I say fizzy drink, and shopping trolley too, but none of these crazy buggers in North America seem to get what it is all about.

oh and it's lollies, not candy!

trolley?  I thought that was one of those cars that are suspended in the air and moved via pulleys.
