how to fight that midnight crave`
i need major advise... i think the reason why i have gained weight is due to wanting to eat late at night. and its not the good snacks i eat during day like jello or cranberries because im really good at portion control during the day and counting my calories but its ice cream sandwiches and candy bars or a big bull of marion berry pie ice cream. i don know how to fight that evil midnight addiction.
go to bed before midnight? :)
it sometimes works for me
drink water after 7 pm
Sometimes I have this struggle too because I work late (PM shift), so on my days off occasionally I get hungry late.
What if you were to save some calories for your midnight snack? A bowl of ice cream can have a whopping amount of calories, but if you did light ice cream (I find it tastes great)and make sure to measure out the serving, or even better are the Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches!! I am not a fan of ice cream sandwiches myself but these are awesome. They have several DELICIOUS flavors, and they are not skimmpy in size by any means, therefore very filling. The vanilla one is 140 calories, and the chocolate peanut butter one is 150. Then you can control your calories AND look forward to your snack. Sometimes when I save a snack/calories for later (usually a 60 calorie Jell-O pudding snack), I end up not even eating it. If however, I don't plan for it, then I feel desperate and regret not having any calories to spare. It's a mind game for me. I love knowing that I have a snack in my "back pocket" so to speak for those times when cravings strike. Good luck...
P.S. Skinny Cow has other products too. Check out how the Truffle Bar stacks up to carrots in the "cowculator" (not saying it's better for you than carrots, just saying I get it-sometimes carrots ain't gonna cut it, right?)
