What do you normally do in a situation like this? I know that they are very good for you, but I can't think of an equivalent
Any recomendations?
i did the search and found that if i put in "fig" i got mostly cookie type items (like fig newtons), but when I added the 's', "figs", the fruit was right there.
now, what i've done in the past for things a couldn't find here, or just wanted to verify the status, is to look it up some where else. someone here once directed me to a site called calorieking.com which has good info. you don't have to join the site to use their food data.
good luck!
But if you put in "figs", plural, you get the list I found. Always try that first.
not only are they in the data base, they are in my fridge.
I just received two figs from my friends yard. I've never tried them. This may be a stupid question but do you just peel them and eat them?
eat the whole thing, no need to peel them, as a matter a fact the softer they are the sweeter they are. They are incredible. Fibre, iron yummy.
I just thought it was a strange thing not to be included in the database!
I love figs right off the tree - have tried to grow them twice, with no success - tree died both times. They generally grow well in Houston.
Great fruit!! Nectar of the Gods!
