Figured I would give this a try....
I have been this weight before. I was 270 after quitting tennis after high school and eating grilled ham and cheese sandwiches and curly fries everyday the first year of college. My sophmore year I got fed up and started dieting. I took my time. I went on a diet for a few weeks and then got off for a few weeks. By the time I was about to finish my junior year I was 198. 72 lbs down and determined to keep going, but the I made the biggest mistake ever. I got too comfortable at that size!
I stayed there for about 2 and a half years and I slowly gained 5 lbs here and 10 lbs there. Before I knew it I was 230 again! Then the mega bombshell hit. My job sent me to work out of town for three months. No home cooked meals and a company credit card to charge all the food I could eat. I gained 30 more lbs. That was last year and now I have lumped another 10 onto that and I have to STOP now!
I have been trying to get back on the band wagon and lose weight the way that I did it the first time, but everytime I get started I lose a lot of weight the first two or three weeks and then I hit a wall and get discouraged. This time I am going to try counting calories and taking it slow. I finally paid my past due gym membership and I plan to head there tonight. Hopefully, doing things slowly will teach me what I need to do to maintain the weight loss this time. Wish me luck!
GIRL U SOUND JUST LIKE ME R U SURE U DIDN'T WRITE MY STORY- I SWEAR IT'S TO THE -T
BUT JUST ON DAY AT A TIME. AS I TELL MYSELF NOW I DIDN'T PUT THIS WEIGHT ON OVER NIGHT AND I CAN'T TAKE IT OFF OVER NIGHT EITHER, ONE STEP AT A TIME AS JORDAN SPARKS PUT IT ONE STEP AT A TIME IS ALL WE CAN DO. AN I USED TO LIVE ON THE SCALE BUT I HAD TO BRAKE THAT CAUSE IT JUST
EVERY TIME. I LEARNED THAT EVERY DAY U CAN GAIN LOSE 2-3 POUNDS WATER WEIGHT AN I'D SEE THAT AN BE LIKE F-IT I GAINED SO WHAT'S THE POINT RIGHT?! SO NOW THAT I WEIGHT MYSELF EVERY SAT. I CAN'T WEIGHT TO SEE WHAT I'VE DONE . AN IN DOING THAT IT MAKES ME STICK HARDER TO MY DIET DURING THE WEEK CAUSE I WANT TO SEE GOOD NUMBERS BY THE END OF THE WEEK.
P.S -ON THE PLUS I SAY UR U MAY HAVE WEIGHT TO LOSE BUT AT LEAST UR FLAT AT FRONT ON UR BELLY I GOT ROLLS AS I CALL IT I WON'T MIND BEING BIG AND FLAT
Great to have someone who can feel where I am coming from. A true "chubby buddy". I am going to try really hard not to weigh myself all the time because I know its discouraging. The plan is to let my boyfriend take my scale to his house and bring it over once a week until I feel like I have some self control...lol
Taking it slow really is the way to go. It is hard to continue on when you get discouraged trust me I have days like that too and then when I do give in and eat something I shouldn't I tell myself well I've already done it for the day might as well eat all I want. So one of the hardest habits I've had to break is when I mess up or get discouraged to tell myself that just cause I messed up that one time or becacuse I didn't lose a pound this week doesn't mean I should give up. Just stick with it and if you need some motivation or just someone to talk to let me know. I love that this site is here and it seems to be pretty easy to find someone that can relate and make me feel better. I've started getting on here when I get the urge to eat too much or to eat something bad and there is always a post or something that I can read and get my mind off of the food I was going to eat. Good luck!!
