What can i fill up on and still lose weight?!?
Because i don't want to be hungry all the time but i DEFINENTLY don't want to gain weight lol. I'm told like vegtables.. does anyone know if that's true? oh and just for the sake of saying i'm so upset right now.. I was looking at the weight gain part on here and it says that some sure ways to gain weight are avacados and banana bread.. my favorite foods by the way! lol just had to mention it. anyways... advice about the first part??
celery and cucumbers... mmmmmm banana bread and guacamole :( now im hungry!!! :)
hahahah see celery and cucumbers can't even compare
protein! chicken and tuna are very filling and also very low calorie and also burn more calories when digesting!
Yeah veges, fruit, low fat dairy - yoghurt, cottage cheese, low fat cheese slices, chicken, fish, tofu, ham, eggs... egg whites are super low calorie but I can't stand the white on its own so I eat whole eggs, there is so much nutrition in the yolks anyway. Try out different veges and fruits to see what you like - my current favourites are cherry tomatoes, pumpkin, beetroot, sweet potatoes, oyster mushrooms, broccoli, papaya, starfruit, apples and mangoes. There is a whole world of choice out there aside from celery and cucumber... which are both fine if they float your boat, but they don't do it for me.
losing weight and dieting...not much fun when the hungaries hit...after eating anything we wanted for years...then having to eat so much less and so many tasteless foods. There is no magic formula...unless you go for these diet pills which I did not want to use.
However if you are determined as I was to lose weight and will do what has to be done...then try to introduce more cereal grains as fillers...psyllium husks, rolled oats, rye and spelt flakes(raw)...1 tablespoon of any two in 1/2 glass of water...drink before eating anything...for me this curbs appetite...and I did not eat as much and when hungry it helped a lot. Good for sleeping too so I do not wake up hungry. I just add these high nutrient foods to cereal, veggie salads, fruit salads, yogurt etc.
Worked for me...
Red cabbage. Chop it up. Eat it for salads, but if you make it into slaw be careful how much mayo you add. Add it to stir fry to bulk it up. It's a filling substitute for starchy high calorie foods like pasta and rice.
Anything with fiber is your friend! You can also find or make some very filling yet low calorie soups. By the way, avocados are fine in moderation - you can have 2 tbsp of guacamole (which is more than enough to make anything delicious) for about 50 calories. Yum!
Believe it or not - potatoes ! medium potatoes are 100 calories !!! and the best part is they fill you up ! I buy the publix brand , also if your like me , you love butter . Spray butter has 0 calories and it taste the same ! ![]()
omgish what spray butter?!? what brand is it?
the butter is Parkay brand and is in a blue bottle =]]
holy crap i didn't know parkay made a 0 calorie spray butter...you just made my day :)
egg whites!
For breakfast make a giant egg-white scramble with whatever veg or meat you have lying around. I usually use one whole egg and 2-5 egg whites. The more veggies you add, the better. Onions, garlic, asparagus, artichoke hearts, red bell pepper, anything!
i wish i liked egg whites, but that is the part of the egg that makes my stomach turn when its not scrambled lol
lol ! no problem tht stuff has proved to be a complete god send ! it saves me the unnecessary calorie use ^^

totally!! i love frozen broccoli, so if i ever have it for dinner i am def going to get that parkay to use it with, and baked pot. whenever i have them!
cool ! hope you like it =]
if you don't like egg whites, you should try using egg beaters. It is only 30 calories per egg and it is delicious tastes just like real scrambled eggs and has a lot of protein.
Spray butter is god sent!! I love it!
Well I'm gonna have to do ALL of this. Thanks so much. ![]()
a slice of banana bread a day, and a slice of avacado on a sandwich are NOT going to kill you if you stay in your calorie limit. they are pretty calorie dence tho, so if your going for the "i'm so full i cant eat another bite" feeling, they wont help too much.
and to make them scrambled eggs fill you even more, eat with a bunch of chunky salsa! granted, its high in sodium, but that causes water weight which is easily lost, but it's also very filling at a low calorie density!
plus, i love bean soup! it give you a satesfied feeling and also clears your digestive system out (if you eat enough), so you can empty yourself out every once in a while (...if you know what i mean.) white bean soup with onion, garlic, salt, tad olive oil, and spices is my favvvvv, and easy to make... kinda.
and a side note! dont forget that healthy fats are still important! on average, websites seem to say ~30% calories from fat is a good goal to aim for. so dont go too carb/protien crazy!
Where can I see 1/8th or 1/6th of a pie or angel food cake?
This is the best way to picture a portion of pie or cake: Draw a circle to represent the circumference of the cake or pie (9" pie? 10" cake?... Read more
