Filling dessert snack?
Anyone else have easy, healthy desserts/snacks? I'd be interested in hearing them. ^_^
Reason: Released as sticky
Latley I've been trying to incorperate dessert into my meal plans, so tonight I'm haing a homemade soda cupcake possibly with about a tsp or so of homemade frosting and 1 serving of light ice cream. It's going to end up being around 170 calories.
I guess these aren't really 'healthy', but there yummy and a way to get in calories if needed. Instead of these some 'better' options might also be a cubed apple with cinnamon, splenda or sugar and a little tiny bit of sf syrup microwaved for 1-2 minutes. You could top that with light cool whip or ff reddi whip.
Also, fruit salad is great, maybe pair a small portion of that with some yogurt.
Make a homemade muffin using whole wheat flour, a small amount of nuts and dried fruit, maybe oats and flaxseed. Cut down on the sugar in the recipe and fat by making you own subsitutions with honey for a nautral sweetner and applesauce instead of oil.
I made zuchinni bread the other day that was fat/sugar free and sometimes have a slice of that after dinner.
I've just made jelly with applesauce and pie apple and its really good. It was apple cran flavoured sugar free jello, and its great as a snack. Low cal but no so low cal you feel bad (as i've added fruit!)
There's also a thread on fake cheesecake made with cottage cheese. I stuffed it up bigtime but it was still pretty good.
Google disney's banana cheese pie. Its GOOD. Its made with yogurt and bananas and stuff, for kids, but pretty low cal too!
One of my favorite breakfast treats is applesauce mixed with instant oatmeal, golden raisins, and a dollop of cottage cheese or yogurt. Delicious.
Oh man all these recipes are awesome.. I have been doing the apple, and cinnamon thing in the microwave, but I put a little bit of brown sugar on it.. I use this brown sugar made from splenda that is only half the sugar. Tastes like apple pie.. and adding granola makes it that much better.
The peach dessert sounds really good too.
I also love to make fat free chocolate pudding and dip fruit into it.

I am in love with the caramel de luche (sp?) jello pudding cups! They are delicious and only 60 calories! I love to stick them in the freezer for a few minutes before hand, makes them so tasty, especially with fruit.

There is this very delicious ice cream, well sorbet. It's from a company called Del Monte... I bought this Freeze and eat fruit chillers. IT IS SOOOO VERY good. It is frozen fruit sorbet, tastes really creamy... it has zero fat, 190 calories per cup, 2 g of fiber and 46g of carbs (Carbs is a bit high) But overall, it's a A- snack, and it is very very tasty... the polar raspberry one especially.
I love del monte's smoothie ices! They're on a stick, and taste fantastic...
And to everyone who suggested apples (or peaches) with cinnamon and sugar in the microwave - thank you!!! I haven't tried the peach version yet but I just tried the apple one and it was delish!!
I like to take low-fat Grahm Crackers and put frozen cool whip between them, this makes a very good snack. It makes you feel like your having a frozen icecream sandwich, I use lite cool whip, but the trick is to keep it frozen and layer between the grahm crackers.
Very, Very good!
also, popsicle now makes these TINY, slow melting popsicles - there's only 15 calories in each one! it takes about 10 minutes to finish one, too, so it's pretty satisfying just to eat one - however, a serving size is 3, if you are really craving sugar :D
I like a fake version of Bananas Foster, and the calories are pretty adaptable depending on what ingredients you use. I made this last night and could only eat half a banana's worth.
Cut the banana into slices or chunks, then cook it in a little bit of melted spread (I used light Smart Balance, probably about a teaspoon). Mix in a touch of brown sugar (regular or the Splenda version) and let that melt. Then add as much cinnamon as you like. You can add a tiny splash of banana liqueur or rum if you like for flavor, but it's good without too. Once the sauce is thick and bubbly, it's done. I served mine by scooping out the bananas, topping with 2 tbsp. of lite Cool Whip and then spooning the rest of the sauce over that.

personally i just love the fiber one bars, the new caramel flavor is amazing, and the peanutbutters good too. the caramel one tastes like im eating a candy bar, but has 9 g of fiber:) i love them
I also LOVE the fiber one bars. I have not had the caramel one yet but eat the chocolate and peanut butter ones whenever I am craving sweets. They are so freaking good!
I like to take 2/3 cup of frozen raspberries and sprinkle on 1 tsp of sugar (or I'm sure you could use sweetener but 1 tsp of sugar only has 16 calories, so...) Then I microwave that for 45-60 seconds, just long enough to warm it up. Then pour it over a 1/2 cup of fat free vanilla ice cream.
I also like Luna bars. They have lots of good flavors and lots of protein. And Reese's Big Cups have 210 calories, 4 grams of protein and 2 grams of fiber. Not to bad for candy, so I have one of those every now and then.
Sugar free snack pack pudding cups are only 60 calories, though they don't have a lot of nutritional value otherwise. But they taste good and are really creamy.0
Or you can blend 2/3 cup of frozen strawberries with sugar free lemonade and make frozen strawberry lemonade, which is ony 50-60 calories depending on the lemonade you use and has lots of iber and vitamins.
Lowfat cottage cheese (or ricotta, whichever you like), sliced up strawberries, and a little bit of sweet and low (or splenda). deeelisssh
Have you ever tried dessert tofu? Unfortunately the only kind we get here is almond :/ but it's alright, I guess. It's 80 calories per 100g serving. I know that in the States they have other varieties as well. It's dessert, it's relatively filling, and it's likely more healthy than ice cream...
