I finally broke the barrier!!!

Quote  |  Reply

I don't post here all that often, but today I am absolutely ECSTATIC!

I broke a barrier that has seemed impossible for me forever now. I am below    220 lbs for the first time in my adult life! 2 days after x-mas too!

I am so proud of myself for having the control to watch what I was eating and to continue doing excercise even though we have been mostly housebound for the past week due to a snow storm that pretty much shut down our PNW city that isn't used to this much snow (almost a foot in some areas... most snowfall at one time since 1980 and first measurable amount of snow on the ground on x-mas day in our city since something like 1938). I got a lot of excercise by shoveling and knocking snow and ice off the carport and so forth... plus I baked one day for 8 hours straight, which is a lot of work I discovered (I had 5 different kinds of goodies plus dinner going all at once... I was really multitasking!).

Anyway, just felt like sharing my excitement! And to put some encouragement out there for others who might find the holiday season challenging...

If I can do it, so can you! I have been fighting this battle my whole life. I was 309 at my heaviest on New Years Eve of 1996 and ever since then have been on the roller coaster of downs and ups with those numbers... but not once since I was 18 years old have I been under 220 lbs until today. It gives me hope like I wouldn't have believed possible!

Keep it up all, anything is possible!
