Finally, the elliptical!

Ok, so i am a big time runner on the treadmill. I have gotten great results from it! I have been running and mainttaining for 2years. So i heard it is good to mix cardio up once in a while. That said i did not really want to truly do anything else b/c this has gotten me results and i feel get a great work out but was getting a little bored. So finally today i did a full work out on the elliptical(spelling?) alone and did the same amount of time as i usually do in treadmill which is 30min. When i do the running i usually run anywhere from 2.5 to 3miles in 30 min and burn 275-300 calories. Well on the elliptical i burned 375 and only did 2miles in 30 min. It was good workout. I did not sweat as much but i worked out my quad/hammies more than running but feel with running get overall body work out!!

Here is the insane part, i felt that i did not get good cardio b/c switched it up????? Opinions???? Was elliptical as good as running??

Running hits me a lot harder than the elliptical, but that seems to be because I just haven't ever run.  The elliptical is lower impact and has a variable resistance.  It could be less cardio or it could be more, try upping the resistance or changing the incline.  Or it could just be different.  ^_^
I like running the best. I think i will stick with that on do something when i am tired or my knees hurt!
i love my eliptical bike, its a great work out for your entire body, much better than running in my opinion, when i lost weight it really melted off the pounds quick and easy.
I prefer the elliptical, it's better for your joints because it's lower impact. When I signed up at my gym, they told me it burns more fat because it's a motion your body isn't used to doing on a daily basis versus walking/running on a treadmill.
I like the elliptical better. Whenever I run (which isn't much..haha) my knee joints, hips, everything aches for a day or two. On the elliptical, I get the same rewarding feeling of my muscles working and burning thanks to the variable resistance and incline levels but my joints aren't in pain the next day.
