Finally I can relax and rejoin the Calorie-Counters!
My shifts have been shortened, my scheduled days have been lowered, and my extra projects are slowly being finished up! All that remains are a poster project for work, two scrub tops for a co-worker, and a prom dress for a co-worker's daughter.
I am so excited to be able to spend my weeks off relaxing, not constantly being busy with projects. The poster project will be finished tomorrow, after I print off my information pieces from work since my home printer doesn't seem to want to function. This prom dress will be finished the weekend after. And the scrub tops will probably be done today since I'm can't finish the poster.
And then my glorious 4-5 days off in a row can be spent where they're rightfully meant to be spent! On the sofa with my feet up, a bowl of popcorn to my left and the TV clicker to my right.
After working for two weeks straight with multiple 12-17 hour shifts each week, I told my boss no more! I'm pregnant, I'm relaxing. I will work 4-8 hours, I will not do more than 8 hours in one day (so no scheduling me for four hours in the morning and eight hours in the afternoon!), and unless I'm on call my phone ringer will be off. Find someone else to pick up the slack in the department 'cause I'm not coming in.
Last week I was off Sunday through Saturday, and I didn't get to enjoy a single day of it because in between trying to work on some of these projects, our entire week was consumed with the passing of Alex's grandfather. That meant this week I had to scramble to get somewhere on these projects.
But next week, oh next week, I shall take my time doing the detail work on this dress, a few final fittings and adjustments, and then I'm not leaving my house unless I'm hungry or have a doctor's appointment.
I will be damned if I do not get to enjoy this pregnancy. If it means pissing people off and saying no, then so be it. It's only going to happen once, and I'm making the most of it.
good for you, you deserve the break! welcome back :)
