Finally, a tortilla that gets an A!
Mission Life Balance, Whole Wheat tortillas
Package says "medium" (they measure 8'), 23 vitamins and minerals, 0 Trans fat 110 calories per tortilla.
aye chihuahua! and Ole!
Do they bend? LOL
I bought some wheat ones (not the brand you listed) that I could not even roll they were so hard (assumption is the lack of fat).
Of course they bend. They are Mission Brand. I think yours might have been stale. Perhaps they were corn. Those don't bend hardley at all unless you know what to do with them.
Can't remember the brand I had, but they were 70 cals each and were wheat. They also bent perfectly fine. I don't remember the rest of the nutritional information though.
Also try "Food for Life" brand sprouted grain tortillas (wheat or corn) They taste amazing and have significant protein and fiber. In the freezer section!
Just had dinner. These are excellent! I'm a happy girl!
but do they rly feel the same as a flour tortilla for a taco?
satisfy??
I love those tortillas. They are definitely satisfying.
In terms of what jesselou is asking, I think if you have grown up eating white pasta, rice and tortillas, whole wheat is an acquired taste. After going whole wheat for awhile, you won't remember the other unhealthy version and be satisfied!
here in Mexicothey sell some kind of corn-like tortillas made of nopal,
which are 22 calories each D:
I added them to my food list and they also get an A
They OBVIOUSLY taste different at first, but now I love them!! And yeah, as mds86 said...once you get used to them, you can't remember the other tortillas :]
~
I'm hungry and now I want quesadillas... Thanks Internet!
I like La Tortilla Factory Smart & Delicious tortillas.
1 6" Tortilla = 50 calories 7g fiber and 5g protein
I don't know why CC doesn't list them... maybe they're not national? I end up adding a Life Balance tortilla for a .5 serving & calling it even.
Mmm love the La Tortilla Smart & Delicious tortillas! I thought they'd be a little dry and hard to bend, but they're actually very soft and taste great. I like to put a little peanut butter and half a bannana in a tortilla, roll it up, and run out the door! Good on-the-go breakfast before work.
Oh TOTALLY! They are the BEST for nutbutter rollups.
Uhhh..huhuh... "nutbutter"...
