I find it difficult to watch Britain's Got Talent- because of the Domino's Pizza Ads!!

Hello....

I've really got into this series of Britain's Got Talent (I had never seen it before)- but it's become addictive viewing now!!  However, I hate the fact that Domino's Pizza sponsor the show!!!  I love their Pizza- I've had leaflets through the post...and every ad break they show delicious pizza with the slogan "takes you to a happy place".  Last night with it being a Bank Holiday I decided to treat myself to a small pizza- it was SOOOO GOOOD!!!  I certainly went to a happy place!!!  I've been really good for a couple of weeks- eating between 1200 and 1300 calories a day, I was scared to get on the scales this morning- but to my delight I hadn't put any weight on- so OK a treat every once in a while is OK I guess- and thank goodness the show ends on Saturday- I can't stand any more torture!!!

Anybody else have the same problem ! ;-)

I live in the US and every other commercial is about food and every other commercial is about a weightloss fad.  Really? the dominos gets to you? Next time a commercail comes on, leave the room and go make the bed, clean the dishes or change the channel.

haha thats funny. Dominos sponsor every TV show here it seems and its always like "oh hey I think Im just gonna order a whole pizza for myself". (there will be 3 people with 3 pizzas munching away) Im always like how do people eat that much and so flippantly like not even considering the amount of fat and calories and junk they're consuming, just sitting in front of the TV? I'm not saying never eat the pizzas but it amazes me that regular people do it without a second thought.. okay now I know I am brainwashed to always consider the calorie content arghh!!

You know what ad gets on my nerves the most? Okay.. well there's 2. lol The first one is Subway (or is it Quizno's?) where they sing, "5 dollah...5 dollah footlongggg...." The song is just annoying. lol

The second commercial I saw for the first time, it was for a cream or moisturizer or something. They were advertising, "Get back into your skinny jeans!" and showing women dancing around and pulling up their jeans and stuff. Of course they flashed "nutrition/fitness/balance" (or whatever the last word was) on the screen, but what the heck does a CREAM have to do with fitness and fitting into your jeans?? LOL I went on a 1 minute rant about it to my mom, laughed at their stupidity, and carried on. Wink

Perhaps the cream acts as a lubricant to slip on jeans that are too tight?? LMAO Laughing

That could be!! Oh, and don't forget about the silky underwear that makes things go more smoothly too. lmao

I spend so much time on the computer that I barely have time for TV but... when I do watch TV there are some simple ways to get around those commercials. I treat each commercial break as a break from the TV. I use it to get up and do something somewhere else in the house like maybe get a glass of water or maybe a low cal snack like an apple, orange, banana, celery sticks, carrot... you get the idea. Sometimes I don't even get anything and the purpose is to get up and walk around! The idea here is two-fold: you remove yourself from seeing the commercials and you're turning the 2 minute commercial break into a two minute activity break! From what I figure, there are on average about 14 minutes of commercials in a 1 hour show. Based on that premise, if you watch TV for three hours in the evening and you spend commercial breaks getting up and about the house, you've put in a total of 42 minutes of light aerobic activity without even going to the gym!

Kinda like the cookie ad on this site that always pops up on the right hand side hahah.  Of course its advertising cookies made with splenda... but just seeing that tray of cookies gets me craving sweets.

I've seen that commercial for the skinny cream, I was wondering the same thing hahah

Most of the time my shows are recorded, so I just hit the fast forward button. Tongue out
