How can I find my percentage of weight loss?
Asked by ac98mc03 on Apr 16, 2008 in Weight Loss

On the Biggest Loser, they talk about "weight loss percentage". I would like to know more about that.

Answer

To find your weight loss percentage, multiply the number of pounds lost times 100, and divide the answer by your starting weight.  For example, if you lost 35 pounds, and your starting weight was 175, you lost 20% of your weight.  In medical terms, a safe and healthy weight loss percentage is 10% of your total body weight over 6 months.
