If you can find another health-conscious person who is more or less built like you and is around your age, that is great. You can share tips with that person to get to know how to lose weight with your body type (since his/her body type might be the same). You can also try different things and give each other some feedback. I think this should help with all of us losing weight, especially teenagers because I think the simple rules of calorie-counting don't work with teens as their minimum differs from the adult 1200 (female) and 1500 (male).

I'm 33, 5'8, 189.0 (started at 207 two months ago) with a goal of 165. I LOVE running and that's an important part of my weight loss strategy...ran 10km (6 miles) today.

Haha, I'm nowhere near running 10k at the moment! I *jogged* 2k yesterday. But hey, maybe you could give me tips till I get better? :)

Once upon a time I lost mucho weight (from 235 to 175)... maintained that weight for about a year. Then went through some BIG life changes (moved to a new city, unemployed for 6 months, finally got a job where I sit on my butt all day, lol) and gained a good portion of that weight back! :(
Looking for a buddy(or buddies) - I'll scroll through the thread to find you.. but thought posting my stats here could help someone find me too! I'm in it for the long haul and think I could greatly benefit from giving and receiving some support! :)

Hello everyone, I think a "twin" is a great idea too and would love to find one! I'm new at this. I'm 24, married, and no kids. Here are my stats (I just started, so no weight lose yet):

I'm a 19-year-old female, 5'6'', 193 lbs (down from 213). I maintained around 180 for a couple years then went through some rough times and rocketed up to over 210. Now I think I'm finally getting things under control but I would love someone to make this journey with me and keep me motivated! (and of course vice versa) My goal is ultimately 138ish but my shorter terms goals are 150-160ish (that would be lower than I've been since about 6th grade)
