Finding Clothes that fit!
I have now lost 74 pounds since September 1 (we won't count January and February since they were BAD months! LOL!). Anyway, I have very large upper arms and I don't wear short sleeved or sleeveless tops. I like 3/4 length sleeves, but I have gone to 6 stores and I can't find anything. The tops I am wearing now are swimming on me. I am not crazy about button up shirts. I like pull overs.
Do any of you have this problem and where do you buy your tops?
Hi Nedlptr,
You'll probably find that a very large percentage of people who loose alot of weight have the same problem. I was 235 and am now 160. Weight lifting and strength train those arms every day. As for the clothes, I went from a size 20 and a 2X to a size 12 and Large/XL shirts. I dropped very fast between Feb. and April. It is wild how you go into a stand still, and keep working hard and then all of a sudden BAM! I have atleast another 35-40 to go. Clothes are expensive. So, I have looked around. I buy new things, but since I don't intend to wear some of those clothes too long, I found that there are alot of churches, probably alot in your surrounding communities that have clothes give aways. Thats what I did. I gave tons of clothes to the church (7 stuffed to the max trash bag fulls) and picked things out there for myself that I fit in now. I will keep doing that. I am a single mother of two on one income, and boy did it help me more than I can say. Look around. There is a website www.freecycle.com and lots of times people list church clothes give aways there. Best site I ever became a member of. Good Luck!!

I was going to post on this clothing topic. It's funny. I was so stoked to fit into certain pairs of pants and now those pants make me look fat because they're too big on me. I'm wearing my son's hand me ups, my husbands hand me downs. I'm all between sizes wearing stuff that looks awful or comical at times. I'm going to have to break down and hit a thrift shop for some temporary clothes because I still have quite a ways to go. This is a great problem to have by the way. I'm not complaining.
Thrift stores are a goldmine of gently used clothing that will get you through to the next size without a huge dent in the budget. I've been shopping at Valu Village for years, and have made some fantastic finds.
Thanks for the suggestions, but to be honest, I don't know of any thrift stores in my area. I will do a search though.
I don't mind spending the money. It's just that I don't know WHERE to look. I suppose once fall gets here it will be easier to find 3/4 length sleeves. This year I will stock up on different sizes when they put clothes on sale at the end of the season.
Thank you all for answering me. I wish us all good luck in our weight loss journey.
Hi,
You are looking for 3/4 length sleeve tops that you pull over your head and that have extra room in the sleeve and you are on a serious budget?
What size are you? colors do you like? what country or part of the US are you in? and your age range would be helpful.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I am looking for 3/4 length sleeves. I prefer pull-over not button up. I am NOT on a budget. Right now I guess I am size 1X, but that's just a guess since I can't find anything to try on! I live in the Northeast US. Colors don't matter really but I am not a fan of red. Age is my secret...LOL!
I sent you a list. Check your email :
