Way to go! I am a new runner and just finished my first 5k yesterday but hope to run a half marathon in March....Any training tips? How long have you been running?

...and what a great time...looks like you're ready for any 1/2 marathon that comes your way.  It's nice to know that you've been keeping with the pyhsical part of your plan to achieve your weight goal...hopefully now that you can do long runs with ease; your goal is within site.

Enjoy your next day or two off...and I bet you have some nice eats in mind after the 13 miles...sweet!

I am getting ready for my first half on October 18th.  I am happy to know I can go the distance.  I was worried.  It was all about pacing myself at the beginning of my run, it made such a difference.

 

plindholt~ I have been running since about August of 2006, but just this year I started to run 10k's and signed up for my first half.  I want to run the Disney Princess Half Marathon next year March.  Then build up to doing a full marathon.  As far as training tips, I have none.  Just run, run, run.  They have a lot of information on runnersworld.com.

if sore knees/joints become a problem, i'd suggest some glucosamine and chondroitin dietary supplement pills. They def. help me out!

Yeah my knees are definitley feeling it today.  I'll have to pick some up.  Thanks for the tip!!
