FIRE being evacuated!!!

we are being evacuated. we live in a mountain community in the foothills of the sierras ion Northern California. All main roads are closed. unless this fire is put out. Our little town is toast.

 

The fire is only 15% contained.  The winds are 35-45 miles/hr  There is a fire below the town and a fire in the canyon to the west of the town.  It is so smokey!!!!!!!!  We helped evacuate the  lil hospital where I work.  I just hope that I have a job and a home to come back to.

Right now we are staying in our motorhome in an empty parking lot.  At the present we are at McDonald's drinking ice tea and staying cool.

Karen!  Please get out of there and be safe.   I pray your home and little town will be ok.  please keep us posted. 

California's going to have a really bad fire season this year.

I hope that the winds calm down.  Stay safe, things can be replaced.

The fire is 35% contained now.  The mandatory evacuation got lifted and we were allowed to go back to our home.  What a mess.  5 of my friends lost there homes.  so far 66-70 people lost their homes.  We had to evacuate the hospital where I work.  that was a nightmare.

 

The last 3 days seem like a blur.  I have lost 4 lbs in the last 3 days.  Just too busy to eat.  I had to remain strong.  Too many people relied on me.  Now that the situation has eased up, I find that my emotions are a bit watery at best.  I am usually a strong person and was having a hard time understanding my tears.  I was talking to one of my friends and she said that she was having the same issues that I was.  I think that we have been through so much stress... not knowing if we would have a home or job to get back to, if the winds would ever die down or perhaps we would get trapped in our town with no way of evacuation if the pitiful 3 roads out of town were blocked.  Most of the time 3 of the 3 roads were blocked.  I guess it is like a basket ball that has been over filled, you let out some of the air to relieve some of the pressure.

google humboldt fire..Paradise California

 The fire is 90% contained.  the winds died down and the firemen from all over the state...some as far away as Idaho, Colorado, Nevada were there helping fight the fire. 


We are back in our home!!  yessssssssssss!  74 homes were lost and some businesses.  This   fire was too close for comfort.  thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

Hi, I was reading the  news.  It's weird how it spread across the canyons like that and then jumped the Skyway.  I'm from Durham/Chico originally, btw. I'd see fires up there but not one like that.
