I'm on my first day of a 20 carb a day diet. I gain all my weight in carbs, drastically. So, starting today it's 6 small meals a day for me, mostly vegs and protein. Limited to 20 carbs with 8 glasses of water.
I'm about to take my dog for a walk because I'm dying to eat the rice and chicken casserole currently sitting in the fridge.
Any advice, encouragement or help?!

20 carbs a day?
Ehh.. Perhaps not the greatest idea. According to this articles:
http://www.essentialnutrition.org/lckids1.php
http://www.ific.org/nutrition/sugars/index.cf m
(Those two articles ROCK by the way. I learned some new stuff! :D Yay! Do read them, then it's like we've learned something new together! Woohoo!)
"Children and adults need a minimum of 130 grams of carbohydrates per day for proper brain function."
"By restricting nutritious foods like grains, beans, potatoes, fruits and milk products, low carbohydrate diets make it very difficult for children to get enough of the vitamins, minerals and fiber found in wholesome, carbohydrate-containing foods."
I don't know too much about your diet, or how many grams you're getting.. but if you're only getting 20 grams of carbs a day, it's not enough and you'll be hurting yourself. x_x Good carbs are good, and won't hurt you in your weight loss. Bad carbs (like obvious junk food) are the kinds that will hinder your weight loss... You really do need good carbs, and lots, in your diet for it to be healthy.
Or am I misunderstanding what your said..? o_o; If so, I'm sorry! XD I just want to make sure you're doin' healthy stuff.
Either way, welcome to CC. I noticed your fairly new. My advice? Enjoy things in the right moderation, even carbs.
I agree with kaybug, if your intent is to only consume 20g of carbs a day. Complex carbohydrates are very good for you, and often low GI - meaning they prevent spikes in blood sugar and regulate insulin along with the fact that they contain fibre. Meaning, you are fuller for longer. :] The key to a diet is not thinking you're on a diet - don't call anything forbidden (unless it will damage your health, like an allergy). Rather, eat sensible portions with a carb/protein/healthy fat/fruit or veg portion in your meals, get enough dairy/dairy alternatives, vitamins and minerals, and do regular exercise in the week. And remember to treat yourself once in a while. :D I wish you luck on getting healthy, but really - up and balance out those carbs!
