My first step
Hello, my name is Jessica. I joined cc last night and finally got to explore the site today. This all seems so crazy! I've never been a calorie counter. I never even cared. I'm 19 yrs old, 5'2", and have been in the 90-100 lb area since I was 13. I love running, but am not too serious about it. I run when I have a lot of energy, that way I know I can complete a distance that will make me proud of myself. I log between 10-20 miles a week. It always varies depending on my work schedule and energy levels. The only goal I'm striving for is eating correctly. I rarely eat. I've always been that way. It's not that I don't want to. It's not that I look at food and think, 'omg calories, I just can't'! I've just been subsiding hunger for as long as I can remember. I don't think I'm fat, I don't really care about the little fat pouch on my belly. I just don't eat! I don't think about food, ever. When I do, it is whatever I'm craving, or whatever sounds the best when I'm looking in my pantry. At times, foods that I love sound repulsive, which even I think is a weird habit. I would like to eat right. I would like to gain some more weight to be healthy and energized. I'm actually majoring in nutrition, for the betterment of myself, and so that I can have the knowledge to help others that are struggling with weight health. It just blew my mind looking through the posts on this website. People are so into this. People really are trying to reach their goals. So, be proud of what you're doing for yourself! Adjusting your entire lifestyle is almost insane. But for the reasons you all are here for, it's obviously worth it. I'm happy for everyones progress and hope that I can make some of my own. Reinvent my eating habits. From what I've learned in the time I've joined this website, I need a meal plan, motivation, and time to ask questions. Everyone here seems very supportive. I'm glad I've atleast taken this step.
Well done for deciding to gain weight and improve your long-term health prospects. Better to start now and get into a healthier eating habit and a healthier weight than to leave it late, carry on being underweight and malnourished and suffer the consequences

The CC calculators are calibrated for people over 21 and the above site is more appropriate for someone your age. You'll see that if you're 'very active' you need 2500 cals just to maintain your weight and therefore you'll need 3000+ to gain steadily.
If I have one tip it's to give food and mealtimes top priority from now on. Work life around meals rather than the other way around. Plan your calorie intake ahead so that you don't get to the end of the day several hundred calories short and having to eat things just for the sake of it.
Obviously, if you struggle with any of this and/or if you experience any health problems due to being underweight e.g. loss of periods, nutritional deficiencies then see your doctor. Otherwise, be organised and it'll happen.
Welcome!! the weight gain forum has tons of resources and people who are trying to gain.

So you can log your weight -- which allows you to do the following:
- Plot your weight curve
- Analyze the trend of your weight (see under Recent in the figure above)
- Determine the projected target date (see under Overall in the figure above)
