First Week: Question
Hi.
It's my third day doing the CC, and I was wondering if it's usual to gain weight the first week? I dunno, maybe it's because I had eaten an hour before, but I've gained 2 lbs since my last weigh in two days ago.
Help?
Hi - what happens for some doesn't necessarily happen to others, but it is not NOT normal to gain when you first start out. Don't worry about the scale 2 days after a weigh-in; your weight will fluctuate from day to day and sometimes for no real reason. I workout hard every day and yet there are days when I go up without any change in my diet. If you're eating right, working out, getting enough sleep and getting your water you will see the results you seek - its not going to be overnight, though.
The one thing I will try to stress is that you need to make sure you're eating enough...starvation will not get you the results; eating a well-balanced diet will. Trust me, I learned it the hard way.
Slow and steady wins the race...we're not on diets; we've made lifestyle changes (nutrition, exercise and sleep patterns) that will benefit us for the long-term.
Good luck to you! - Wanda
that makes SO MUCH sense. Thank you both! :D
I also have another question.
I am literally CONSTANTLY hungry. I went out to lunch at a seafood place and had a shrimp salad. By the time I got home I was hungry again so I had a rice-flour tortilla with cheese and a banana. And I was still hungry! I've been finding that I'm hungry after every meal.
I was thinking that maybe it's my metabolism kicking in? But I really have no clue. I'm pretty sure it's not just an appetite either.
Trying not to be a worry wart. haha. I'm a very laid back person, really. I'm just very...hungry. all the time.
Do your weigh in early in the morning after you have that morning bathroom visit. I have always been told that is the best time, I could be wrong. If you can be building muscle replacing fat with muscle, just a thought and muscles weights more then fat. When I was in the military I did alot of running and weight lifting. I never looked my weight. when i would jump on the scale for weight in's they had me get on two more all the time because I weighted more then I appeared and when I took a nutrition class back in the days that is when I was told the muscle weights more then the fat. Plus you just ate also so that can be a contribution. Oh, Drink lots of water.
Are you eating breakfast at regular times? If not try that. Also add ground flax to your cereal, shakes, salads, anything you can think of. Fiber fills you up! Good luck!
It definitely could be that I'm gaining muscle. I work out a lot, and go on runs, walks, and hikes often. I also work at a zoo, a very hilly and physical zoo.
I'll definitely try out the flax and fiber idea! I just had half a chicken breast and a bit of steak around fourty five minutes ago and I'm starving again. haha. It's really weird.
Does anyone else have good ideas on filling foods?
Drink plenty of water because sometimes when we think we are hungry we are actually thirsty and it will also help flush out the toxins for the kidneys, if these arent working properly the liver takes over and thats the organ that breaks down the fat hense why we usually lose more fluid when we start a change in our eating habits
Good luck hope this helps
