The first weigh-in...

Quote  |  Reply

Friday was the 1st weigh-in for me I started at 163lbs and when I weighed myself yesterday the scale said 162.8. Can you imagine my disappointment when I saw it? But I thought about and realized at least I'm losing something and the slower your weight loss goes the more of a chance you have to keep the pounds off and also I'm eating right and most importantly not starving myself.

I am so happy I found this website it has helped me a lot in controlling my bad  eating habits and also by being able to keep an eye on my calorie intake. The thrill of getting a grade everyday also helps psychologically, who doesn't want to have a good grade. For now I'm just taking it one day at a time and I am so anxious about next Friday.Wish me luck.Hopefully I don't cheat on my diet.... lol

Welcome to the site! It's been very helpful for me also. Good luck on your journey...

It is normal to have a slow start. One day next week you may weigh yourself and have a 5 lb drop. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the encouraging words guys, it really helps me stay focus.

I lost 8 pounds my first week and nothing my second week and I even added exercise my second week!  It'll get easier for the both of us =]

Hi, what was your diet like? Did u just eat healthier? 8 lbs is a lot. That's great, keep it up.

it might not be alot but you're on the right path. I've gradually been losing weight and even though I cheat on my diet from time to time, I am still able to keep the weight off. I use to be able to lose about 5 pounds a week, but it never stayed off. I would gain it back as soon as i strayed from my diet. Losing it slowly really is the best thing. =]

I ate about 1200 calories at the most my first week.. I know it was pretty unhealthy, but I have a serious motivation issue when I don't see quick results, so at this point I'm having more calories.  But I'm a vegetarian and whenever I got hungry the first week, I just steamed some broccoli and put a little pepper on it and ate it.  I also did a lot of walking.
