FitMommas-On a Mission Daily Thread

Hello, ladies!

I did ok yesterday.  Ended within cal goals, but no workout. My sister was in for a visit (my best bud) and is leaving today so I am a little down.  I plan to workout at lunch.  It always makes me feel better.  I parked in the far end of the lot and took the stairs again.  Yay me!  Be sure to celebrate those small victories!

Have a great healthy and fit day!

I forgot to answer the posts from yesterday!  I have read a lot of info on the positive effects of drinking green tea.  There is even some studies that say it may help boost your metabolism.  Since I have no Thyroid, I can use all the help I can get!  At the very least, the green tea has valuable antioxidants, which is good.  At the very most, it may help shed some calories a tiny bit faster.

I did quite well yesterday myself.  Managed to stay below my cal level and did walk on the treadmill for 30 minutes.  I also took your advice and parked in the far corner of the parking lot this morning!

Here's to a productive rest of the day!!!

Thanks Coach K for the link to this new thread!!! That will help avoid confusion.

 And to answer SkiChickLynn:

"  What is the difference between the estimate number and bottom number.  For instance, if my estimate says 3160 and the bottom number says 2466 does this mean I've burned an estimated 3160 calories and I can eat more than my normal calorie limit for the day.  2466 calories seems like a lot over my daily goal (1700) even if I'm being active.  Can anyone clarify this for me??"

The number at the bottom is the total number of estimated calories burned SO FAR today. (Someone please correct me if I am wrong) And the top number is total estimated calories TO BE burned today (by midnight). To lose a pound, you have to burn 3500 extra calories. If you eat 1700 calories and burn 3160, you have a 1460 calorie deficit. Leaving you to have to burn 2040 more calories to lsoe one pound.

My daily goal is to have a 1000 calorie deficit, so I can lose 2 pounds a week.

Anyways, hope everyone finds the new thread!!! I have been doing my elliptical almost everyday, and have lost 2 pounds since Dec 28th. Yay! Anyone interested in doing a once a week weigh in? Maybe Monday morning? I picked monday in hopes that I would resist weekend temptations!!

Hey ladies,

I just happened upon your thread and would love to join in.  I just started here on the first of January.  I have about 110 lbs to lose and have lost 3 pounds so far.  :)  I like the idea of drinking the green tea.  Any little bit of help is worth a try.  So far I have been strength training on a excercise ball every evening after my 7-month old boy goes to bed.  He is my daily inspiration ;)

Okay, so is this the permenant thread now?

Thanks for clarifying that for me smmca, that sounds more logical.  Good job with the elliptical every day, 2 lbs is a great start! Welcome Allison, good luck with meeting your goal.  I love the exercise ball and found it really worked for me. I didn't do very well today staying within my calorie limit.  I went about 600kcal over thanks to my addiction to pizza.  I got a workout at home in today but nothing major, just 30 minutes of rope jumping/crunches/exercise ball etc.  Tomorrow I will start training for my 10K.  Wish me luck!

I wish I was training for a 10K! What a great goal! You know what I do when I get a pizza craving? I get one of the low cal frozen diet pizzas (weight watchers, south beach, etc) It helps cure the craving and keeps you within the limits. I think south beach pepperoni is my fav.

Good morning, ladies!

The weekend was rough for me and I hate not having the time to get on my laptop and log my cals.  But Monday is always a nice fresh start. I have a heck of a day with meetings planned, so it looks like I will be doing a workout tonight after my son goes to bed. I have strep throat but am on some good meds, so other than being tired, I don't feel too bad.  At least I'm not contagious anymore. My husband and I were in a fight all weekend, so not great motivation and I really had to fight the emotional eating.  We're going to be ok, just financial issues.

I parked far this morning, even though I wore heels and took the stairs.  It always starts the day right for me.  Remember your water today!  Anyone else struggle with water on the weekends?  Weekends seem to do me in.  I forget meds, water, cal logging, the whole nine yards.  Any tips to staying on track on the weekends?

Have a healthy and fit day!

Hello ladies...

I just came across your thread and would love to join in.  I just started on here @ the first of the year.  I have about 80 lbs to lose and have lost 3 pounds so far.  I work a full time job about 50 hours a week and im taking 9 college credit hours. I have a 2 year old little girl who is my heart and soul.  I do not want her to grow up and see that its ok to have these bad eating habits.  I want her to be proud of me.  I would love to join your group.

Have a great Day :)

Welcome Ohiogirl!

I exercised for 23 min on the elliptical this morning before work. And had a good weekend. Drank lots of water. For some reason Paige, I drink more on the weekends! Hope you feel better. And hope everyone has a great day.

Hi everyone.  I hope you all had a productive day.

Thats a great idea smmca about the low cal frozen pizza, I'll have to try that, pizza is definitely one of my weaknesses!  I'll look for them the next time I go grocery shopping.  I also struggle with water, I hardly ever drink a glass during the day and only take sips when working out.  I really need to try and drink more.  Maybe that will be my goal this week to substitute one of my daily diet pepsi's for water.  Sorry I have no tips for staying on track on the weekends since I seem to eat more junk and forget to log sometimes too.  I try to plan a fun family activity that will get us all exericse and that way it still seems like a break but I'm getting a workout.  We usually downhill ski but sledding is also a good idea in the winter and gives you lots of exercise when walking back up the hill.  Other ideas could be walking together as a family, going swimming etc.

Started my training today and did pretty good, hoping I'm not too sore to continue tomorrow!
