FITNESS! that's what i want
I'm noticing that I spend too much time on this website but I need to let this out. Maybe it should go on my journal or something but what the heck. I WANT TO BE FIT, not skinny, I WANT TO BE RIPPED and not only gym strong but strong strong. I'm not afraid of weights or of a challenge, I actually love lifting weights. Then why oh why is it so hard to attain this goal. I just want to see the light that's hidden inside all of this information. I just want to know how and get it!
Sorry, sometimes i just feel like letting my insides out.
Good luck to you!
the answer is deceptively simple;
it takes a long time.
Amen! I feel the same way. I want to be totally ripped. I WANT the amount of muscle that most women think is too much muscle.
I have an office job and I really want to be across the street, at the gym, with the meat-head boys, lifting weight, most of the day.
Evitarolu...I think we might be best friends.
You can do it if you really want it! As spooky said, you just gotta stay committed and give it time.
That's the spirit! I could sign your battlecry too, I want the kind of body that most people would find a major turn-off on a woman. I want to be freakishly strong with visible muscles and minimal body fat. What I fail to see though is why this is hard? It's possible, it's attaineable, it takes time but so do most things in life that are worth having and most importantly, the journey is the reward. Every kilo you add to your weights, every ounce of muscle you put on, every layer of fat you peel off is going to feel like a victory.
I take to heart Henry Ford's wise words about how everything is possible when broken down to small jobs. Take it one workout at a time and enjoy it while it lasts! Bask in the sweet endorphine rush after your lifting session and admire all the muscle you've already built, the time will fly by.
Wow, I'm really glad I'm not alone on this. I know it takes time, i just want to look like I feel when I'm doing a bench press and i get to that final one and u can just hear the bang of the metals when u put it down. i want to look like what I can do! I'm very happy to see that everyone is very patient and that maybe I should be like that too. thanks guys.
There's this really great book out called "Making the Cut" and the author is Jillian Michaels (she's one of the personal trainers on the show "Biggest Loser"). I found it in Target one day for around $12 and read it immediately. It has diet plans based on your metabolic type and a 30 day work-out plan. It says its for people only looking to lose 10-20 pounds and get "ripped." I've been trying to stick to the plan for close to 2 weeks and lost 5 lbs so far. I definitely would recommend it to everyone.
hang in there! i've been at it for about 2 months fully dedicated and just when i feel like i should be noticing something...i do! it just takes some time.
and always remember, the longer it takes to get there- the better it feels when you arrive and the harder it is to lose it.

If you enjoy weight training and want to be fit and in shape with muscle definition I would highly recomment P90X by Tony Horton. You may have seen the infomercials. It comes with a meal plan which I personally ignored and stuck with the CC burnmeter vs. eatmeter to lose weight. I would try to buy it on e-bay as it is costly - $120... but well worth it.
I think the goal of fitness vs. skinny is not only healthy but will serve you your whole life! Be strong and keep the faith.
"how long" it takes really depends on how much fat you have to start w/. i started out at 5'7 and 147. started lifting in about october/november. it didn't take long at all for me to make quite remarkable strength and muscle gains. as of today, i'm 143 (not much difference), but i have a lot of muscle, and i'm really strong.
so i'm just saying that it doesn't necessarily take so long. just lift heavy.
