How can I fix my saggy breasts?
Asked by karijones2 on Dec 04, 2008 in Weight Maintenance

I recently lost over 50 lbs, but it seems like my breasts just aren't where they should be. I've had two children, but I'm only 26. Can they ever be perky again?

Answer

Breasts are covered with a layer of fat, and when the fat shrinks, the breasts can sag.  But at your age, some of the skin’s elastic tissue might snap back - if you don’t regain the weight.  To make your breasts appear perkier, maintain good posture and wear a bra that fits correctly.  You can also do exercises to build the chest muscles that support the breasts as demonstrated by the Guide to Exercise at About.com.  As a last resort, some women opt for breast-lift surgery with areola repositioning.
