I think I fixed my metabolism...
I'm a 15 year old guy that has lost about 20-25 pounds to make me 106-107 and 5' 2"...I have grown 2 inches over the summer so cool... I used to maintain about 104-105 but now at about 106-107 because I am growing. I have been maintaining for about 2 months now and have lost weight for the 4 months before that. Okay so this is bad but when I was loosing weight I had 1,500 calories and exercised everyday. I still exercise everyday for an hour, but now I eat 2,600 calories. I have been exercising daily for 1 hour and eating 2,600-2,700 calories a day to maintain. Eating this much used to seem like a lot. But now I built up a bigger stomach or something because I could eat 3,500 calories on healthy foods no prob.
No one else is like this though. No one else I know could eat as much as I eat. I could seriously down 2 foot longs from subway and could still probably eat more. How, you ask? I freaking have to idea. I know I don't need to eat this much. I'm comfortably satisfied with 2,600 calories a day it's just what I COULD eat. No one else seems to have the appitite that I have. Why?
Perhaps, you have genetics on your side?
Perhaps, you have a roaring metabolism.
Be certain to get some fun, healthy exercise in, too.
One of my daughters is thin as a rail and still eats a lot. Another daughter eats much less but still has to watch out for weight gain. Both exercise and eat healthy, but one has more of her mother's genes and one has more of mine, I guess.
Well I have some fat genes..so.. maybe that's it... But yeah it's weird how some people are satisfied with almost nothing and then people like me can go to a bufe and eat like everything.lol
Dude, you're 15. It's a fringe benefit. When I was a teenager, I could down an entire medium pizza and then go running. Enjoy it while you can, because it won't last. :-)
Yeah I know but even people my age don't eat much. While I would eat 5 slices of pizza, they would eat one. And they are the same age as me. How does that work??
You are probably having another growth spurt soon. I remember a few years ago when I was 13 and I was eating like a elephant. I was already growing, but I guess my body needed more food for the final 4 inches.

I'm dumbfounded and have no explanation for this! You must be hanging out with cyborgs in disguise or something.
When I was a teenager, my mom would make half the meal for the rest of the family (2 adults, 2 other teenagers), and half the meal for me. And then I started competitive swimming when I was 17, and started getting REALLY hungry! :) I don't know how they afforded me, to be honest. At swim meets, I would spend $20 at McD's pretty easily (for one meal), and that was 20+ years ago. So you can imagine how much food that bought.
Enjoy it while you can. :) It likely won't last forever, although I've got a few friends that can eat as much as they like and not gain weight even at 40+ years old. But more than likely, your metabolism will slow down as you get older, and you'll have to watch what you eat again. For me, I think it started in my late 20's.
Oh, and I think it's your friends who are abnormal, not you.

You can probably eat more. I have similar stats, except a little lighter (I'm gaining though) and my maintenance, WITHOUT exercise, is about 2700. 1 hour exercise burns what? 500 cals? So you could easily go 3000+.
And I agree that your friends are strange. Whenever I go to my friends' we have like half a pizza each, and lotsa pepsi and nachos & cheese for movie snacks. Then we wake up for a good breakfast of pancakes or waffles with syrup and bacon ;]. And we're all at healthy weights and don't exercise all that much either. Being a teenager rocks!
Some people have fast metabolisms. My brother for instance is over 50 years old and he has an very active outdoor job.
I would estimate he eats 4000 calories per day and has a body that many 20 year old boys would envy. Rock hard abs, back, shoulders, etc. And probably less than 12% body fat.
His idea of a late night snack is a huge bowl of Honeycombs and about a quart of milk.
Uggghhhh you're all so lucky! I'm forever cursed with a slow metabolism.. =[[
