man why are they so hard to give up......im convinced a few years ago i was addicted to lucozade had to have a bottle a day,WITHOUT exception!
I easily get through a 2lt bottle of diet coke or pepsi max sprite in a day....I just cant do the water thing doesnt taste nice or like anything even with lemon or watever!!....u cant make water nice ya just cant!
So as of today Im gonna try go cold turkey on it....n ill be honest and let ya know how it goes.....im pretty doubtful.....hahah awww fecks sake
hiya...i know what you mean, some things are sooo hard to give up! and ill agree with you that water isn't really 'nice' - but that's kinda the point of it, it's just tasteless, but we have to have it anyway, cause it's good for us and we need it to keep hydrated etc etc. The thing with fizzy drinks is that sure they keep us hydrated but they add so much junk into our systems when really, drinking is just about being hydrated, not so much the taste...except for things like milk which are good for calcium and all that...
but anyway, i hear ya. maybe cold turkey isn't the best option. try limiting how much you have, e.g. to begin with, maybe start just having one SMALL can or whatever of fizzy drink in a day (since you have been having up to 2lt a day which is a lot), and then from there try to cut down to 5 cans a week, and then maybe 3. I still let myself have a one or two of small bottles/cans a week and I'm fine with that.

i hate plain water too, i usually force myself to drink it. why don't you try crystal light or the store brand/generic of crystal light. they taste pretty good and have a great assortment.
When i Started CC in Feb of this year, I was drinking 10-12 cans of Diet Pepsi a day. Yes I know .. A case a day. That is well over a 2lt.
After a few weeks, I started drinking water, with some crystal light in it, drinking only one can of diet drink per day, ( some days i didnt have any) I routinely would reduce the amount of crystal light i was using and replacing it with just water.
Now i drink only water ( no crystal light) and about 5 nights a week I enjoy a Diet Pepsi, or coke Zero, in the evening after dinner.
I couldnt live without my water now, after a few weeks, you body feels so much better being hydrated, I never realized how dehydrated i was all the time. Even my skin cleared up, and ppl actually commented on how clear my skin was.
Water is amazing, but dont go cold turkey. its horrible I tried that too, just remember that you will get used to the water, you will learn to love it .. I did .. and i was the biggest diet drink junkie ever !

I rarely ever drank sodas, until in the summer some coke zero and diet crush went on sale and I bought some, then I started drinking about 10 a day, it was making me retain water, so I had to force myself to stop, I just went cold turkey, I craved it for awhile, but then they went away.
hahaha cold turkey eh didn workout so well....! so my new approach is halfing what i normally drink....
ive never heard of crystal light, i dont know if you can get that in ireland ive never heard of it neway but im gonna have a look in the shop tomorrow.

mjjrules- god i dont know how you did cold turkey literally about four hours into the first day...was really funny...it was like everyone around was drinking pepsi max....everyone....so i finally caved after work..
oh boy. i have a diet coke addiction myself. I drink at least 3-4 cans a day. I tried quitting cold turkey but it only lasted me 4 days... then i just missed it so much, my fiancee was drinking it.. and i caved in!
