Do fizzy drinks such as diet coke make you gain weight? I'm not referring to the fact that sweetners are used therefore triggering food cravings but just for the pure fact that they are fizzy. I don't drink alot of it, it's just a general question! thank u!
Simple answer is no. If they very low or zero calories they will not cause weight gain. People may disagree over how "good" they are or are not for you, but they will not cause weight gain in and of themselves.
some people claim that it makes them bloated. I think that's about it. I'm sure the clean-eating crew will be around shortly to tell you more about it though.
Off course it does! Drink a can of coke and you've gain the mass of the liquid you just drank. And you lose some or all of it when you pee. Depends! =P
No, they don't make you gain weight because they don't contain any energy (calories). There is a small amount of sodium (hence the term 'soda').... only an issue if you were drinking litres of the things each day. OK in moderation.
fizziness alone won't cause weight gain. It may cause temporary bloating or gassiness, especially if consumed quickly. ( if you only want fizziness try sparkling water with some fruit juice for a treat).
artificia sweeteners mess with your head, your body expects sugar and doesn't get it so you crave sweets.
Regular soda is loaded with sugar and contains no nutritive value. You might as well drink a glass of water and eat a quater cup of sugar. At least the water would clean the sugar off your teeth. (j/k :)
I no longer drink soda but I do ocassionally miss the fizziness, so I will buy a carbonated juice or a natural soda but not very often (they are healthier but still not exactly a health food, save real ginger ginger ale which can be a lifesaver when your stomach is unhappy)
I love Coke and Pepsi, but hate diet soda, so I weaned myself off of them and I now drink various flavors of Crystal Light. I particularly like the peach tea. I must add that I've experienced no increased sweets craving. When I occasionally want something sweet, I'll have a slice of angel food cake (100-150 cals), a sugar-free pudding cup (60 cals), some sugar-free Jell-O (10 cals), or a sugar-free Fudgsicle (40 cals). That's only two-three times a week.
OMG!!! I so love those sugar-free Fudgsicles! Yummmmm....
