Flabby arms--> the most annoying thing ever??.. especially in summer!!
Hey, so have lost weight since joining here in december and can see and feel the differenc and its fab!
Thing now is though that i cant stop noticing my flabby arms! I used to be so distracted by my huuuge belly but now thankfully thats gone down :)
Summers coming up now so that means sleeveless tops! arrghhh ![]()
Anybody know of great ways to get arms toned up and loose bit of flab from them???
xx
I have flubby arms ): When I started working out my arms more they seem to go away, maybe your skin will tighten naturally from losing weight o-o I'm not too sure >x< If you want to tone your arms you should just work out (:, maybe carry stuff or do push-ups in your free time o-o
THANK YOU people! I'm glad I'm not the only one that has noticed these things... grr.
I have flabby arms even though I'm not skinny, I'm 45 lbs under my top out weight and my arms have paid for it. I whine about them all the time and everyone say's they aren't that big blah blah blah. But I'm glab someone has acknowledged this besides me.
I, myself, have flabby arms and really want to tone these up before my wedding day in Sept' 08!
I was told to do the resistance training/weight-lifting maybe 2-3 times a week on for the arm work-out. That's what I am trying to do. I've been doing chest, shoulders, triceps, biceps, and back. Just make sure you continue to eat healthy and do cardio at same time so that way you can firm up your arms and your body, and be in better overall condition. I need to do that too...
Good luck! ;)
The #1 thing here is your diet, ladies. If that's not in good shape, your arms will have flab. Someone already mentioned the right exercises: rows, chest presses, military presses, lat pull downs, dips, etc. HEAVY weights, though. No flinging around 10lb dumbbells on your presses.
I wanted to add that although you can't "spot reduce", that is certainly not the case for flabby arms! As long as you tone up, the skin and whatever additional fat may still be hanging around that area will be more spread out and evenly distributed.
That being said, swimming gives you great arms, especially in the triceps :-) You can even count it as cardio. Not a swimmer? push-ups are an especially good all-over body workout. If you can't do too many of them, drop to your knees, but just make sure that your butt is inline with the rest of your body the entire time.
thanks guys!
Im really bad with exercise... i dnt do any lol!!
rochelle your not the only one dont worry ![]()
What do people mean by cardio exactly?? Sorry if that sounds reeealy dumb...
tyrdrop, so you can reduce your arms is that what your saying or??
xx
Yes, I'm saying that although you can't specifically take fat off of a specific place, you can certainly make it look like there's less fat there. :-) I was a little worried people would bombard you with "oh, you can't spot reduce, you just have to lose more weight". You may not be able to specifically reduce fat from one portion of the body, but by toning, you can certainly make that one part look better
Cardio = any exercise that is usually lower-impact, gets your heart rate up a bit, that you usually do for a good amount of time. Examples: biking, swimming, running (not low impact, I know), some exercise classe
Examples of Non-Cardio: sprints, weight lifting... and I can't think of any others... :-)
What I was trying to point out was that with swimming, you might be able to burn more calories all-around while still toning up your arms in a weight-lifting like manner
do some chinese boxing. it's a really good workout for your arms. push-ups too, and you can do tricep dips at home.
Losing weight helped and also I do 3 different upper arm exercises with a 10# weight, altho I had to start with a 5#. My arms have gone down 1.25" and while they wouldn't win any prize, I'm perfectly content with them now!
Oprah has flabby arms. So you are in good company![]()
Cardio means any exercise to increase your heart rate which will increase body metabolism and will help in loosing weight.
It can be anything like jogging, using treadmill ,playing tennis etc. Brisk walking is also a way to loose some weight.
I am not fat but have flabby arms. I am doing wight training from last 1 month and it has helped a bit . I guess like bellyfat flabby arms are also little difficult to tone.
Hi,
My arms are a real problem. I really want to tone them down but without bulking them up with muscle. Is there any way to avoid this? Also I've been jogging and doing aerobics, but my thighs are just getting bigger with more (man-like) muscle.
Is there any sort of exercise to avoid just bulking up muscle? or is that the inevitable I will have to put up with?!

Yes, by doing weights and being a woman.
I hear pushups are a good workout for your arms if you don't have much time, maybe start by seeing how many you can do in one minute and try to increase it every time. I wieght train everytime I go to the gym and can definitely see a difference, I end up doing arms and upper body 2-3 times each week. Weight lifting is your friend and since you are a woman you won't bulk up, that is a misconception a lot of people have. As far as cardio, 30-45 min. of keeping your heart rate between 130-170 will help you lose weight as well as give you more endurance. I bought a heart rate monitor/calorie counter and it has been my best friend! You can buy them on Amazon.com for around $80.
