I know its supposed to be good for you, but what is it?  What kind of container does it come in?  I don't even know where to look for it in a grocery store, what to put it in, what it tastes like, nothing.  Please enlighten me! Thanks!

Flaxseed can generally be found in the organic foods aisle of most grocery stores. Flaxseed meal can be found with the baking ingredients.
The whole seeds that I buy are in a plastic packaging similar to coffee bricks, though not vacuum sealed. The whole seeds can be a better value because they will keep in the pantry longer than the ground meal.  If you want to grind it yourself, I recommend a coffee grinder.  The ground meal will probably be in an opaque container with the specialty flours.
It tastes kind of nutty and you want to use it sparingly like any other nut or seed. I like to mix it in with my morning yogurt. My mom loves it in oatmeal, though you need to add a little extra fluid for that.
You can also find a number of recipes that will help you make the adjustments if you want to add it into your baked goods.
In case you weren't sure why it's good for you... Flax seed is a good source of fiber and protein. It has the Omega-3 fatty acids that help to lower your bad cholesterol. It is also very filling and, for me, helps to curb the 9am munchies. I hope this helps.
Here's what I buy

Flaxseed Meal

I store it in the refrigerator in a tightly sealed container.
I saw some flavored packages of flaxseed (blueberry, apple cinnamon) at the store the other day, and was tempted to buy it, but I wasn't quite sure how I would incorporate it into my day.  I do eat quite a bit of yogurt, so maybe I'll try that.  I don't eat a lot of fish (BF is allergic to most ... except he can eat shellfish, who knows?), so I probably need more Omega-3's than I'm getting.
I add it to my shakes. I put it on my salads, really the taste is so slight that you hardly notice but it does wonders for my skin and hair..

hope that helps

Im in the process of getting a coffee grinder to grind my whole seeds down.  They say that if your don't grind them down they are good for fiber but your body can't get to the oil as easily.  Also they say that if you grind it or use the oil it starts to oxidize rather quickly so you have to make sure and keep it refrigerated and use it quickly.  It is supposed to be great for quite a number of things, it tastes like little tiny nuts to me and I sprinkle it on top of things like oatmeal and salads.
I have seen it at walmart by all the vitamins.  They are all in alphabetical order and sure enough right next to fish oil is flax seeds, and they are vacumn packed too.
