5'2 in fluctuating between 116-118

Any twins out there?  I need to get down to 109 (which was pre-pregnancy) weight....currently doing cardio(walking) 2-3x a week and weight lifting (upper body) 2x a week.....although I may have lost inches.....still have major belly fat.  Although i try to eat healthy...I do sneak gummy bears or gum drops here and there.  I also have the occasional glass of red wine.  Any suggestions on losing the extra weight?

You're just like me! I'm 5'2'' and happily fluctuated between 113-115 lbs until lately, when I mysteriously began to gain. Now I'm sort of bobbing up and down around 115, from about 114 to 117. I desperately want to stay below my line of comfort at 115! My problem is that the only exercise I do is walking, and I'm always hungry so I find it really hard to eat less than 1800 calories per day. I don't know what to do! Maybe we can help each other ...

Welcom celtic_rose.  I will definitely try to stay away from sweets and wine.....maybe that will help.  I just tried a product called slimquick ....it is all natural and supposed to curb hunger, debloat and increase energy.  I must say that is working with curbing hunger.  Anybody else tried it?  Starting today I will try to eat this way.  Let me know any other tricks celtic_rose.  How many calories should we be eating?  Is it 1800?
Ugh!! me too - 5'2''  and I am stuck at the 113 -116 range and want to be 110.  I feel like all I do is exercise and I can't get any lower. My body is starting to hurt from running 4 miles and walking almost 3 miles a day. Not only that, but I feel hungry all the time.

I eat  about 1800 per day with all that exercise.

 maybe you're not eating enough...

try 1800cal a day, plus eat back some of what you burn off through excerisize, so an extra 200-400cal on active days... your intake should be about 2000-2200cal, since you feel hungry all the time your body need more fuel

I'll try that for a couple of days.   It's hard to do because my mind set is more calories = more pounds.
edunph:  try this equation:  more calories + more energy = more calories burned.  If you are wanting to lose a couple of pounds, than I would up the calories, slowly.

poca1: "slimquick" - why on earth ???  A good diet + phyical activity = weight loss.  Maintaining is long term and a "quick fix" is just that and not long term.

Good luck ladies.
We should be eating 1600 calories per day + anything burned during exercise in order to maintain our weight. To lose weight, 1200 + anything burned during exercise.

However, I sadly find it really hard to stay below 1800. Often I go as high as 2500! My downfall is afternoons: I am OK in the morning and I NEVER eat at night, but I eat lunch at around 1pm and by 3pm I'm STARVING and usually break down and eat. anyone have any advice? I try to save calories for afternoon snacks by eating smaller meals but that just seems to make me hungrier and I end up eating an even bigger afternoon snack!! It seems I'm doomed to stay at 116 lbs!

My other major problem is BLOATING!! My stomach is HUGE. I've been to the doctor recently to see if there's something wrong with me, but I think it might just be lack of conditioning! I'm going to try to start a fitness routine soon.

Good luck ladies! We need to help each other!

Hi playergirl,

Thanks for advice on slimquik; however, I mentioned it was a product that was all natural...it is certainly not a diet formula or "quick fix".  I do realize that diet and exercise are key points in losing weight.  I mentioned previously in my posts that I was tweaking those areas.....only mentioned the slimquik for debloating and curbing appetite abilities.

Carmenxox- Going to try the advice you gave Edunph...Thank

Edunph- Let us know how it goes with increasing your calories on those active days....I just tried this today.  Definitely had more energy and felt like I could exercise forever.....no increased hunger at all.

Hey Poca,

Yesterday I did increase my calories by about 200. So I took in 2000 total, which is about 100 more than I burned. I still felt a little hungry, but not nearly as bad as the days before.  My energy didn't seem to pick up much, but that may be because I do my running at night and after that I'm exhausted. Especially since it was 93 degrees and humid here.

It'll be interesting to see how I feel after a few days. I'm wondering if I I'm not taking in the right kinds of foods. Should I be eating more lean protein? With all this exercise - should I be eating more carbs?  This seems like a delicate balance I definitely haven't mastered.
celic_rose:  you are the most correct, so far.

Weight does flucuate.  Doesn't matter if actively losing or maintining.

poca1:  A good B vitamin complex/multivitamin will do just fine; who are you attemting to kid here?  Thanking me for the advice on slimquick?  Slimquick is garbage!  You know it.   Why are you trying to "push" it here?  From the site slimquick:

"NOTE: Contains >200mg of methylxanthines (including caffeine) per serving. For individuals sensitive to the effects of methylxanthines (i.e., caffeine and caffeine-like stimulants), start by taking only 1 capsule as directed above and do not exceed a total of 2 capsules per day. For best results, combine SlimQuick with a low-fat, calorie-reduced diet and an exercise program. Limit the use of caffeine-containing medications, foods or beverages while taking this product because too much caffeine may cause nervousness, irritability, sleeplessness and occasionally, rapid heart beat.

Please find here SlimQuick Supplement Facts and Ingredients"

Playergirl,

I am not here to be chastised(as I mentioned once again I am not using it as a quick fix...my primary goal is to use exercise and diet to lose weight) I am not trying to push or sell anything.  Furthermore,  I am not taking the pills......so please stop it with your scolding....my goodness!  This site is about supporting each other.

Ok, so after 3 days of about 200 more calories and I feel like I have a little bit more energy than usual this morning, however, I am worried about the scale. Last night I felt flabby and heavy, but tomorrow is weigh in day - so we'll see what the scale reads.  I'll be happy with maintaining at 113, but would be excited about a 1lb loss.  I have been stuck at 113 forever.

Edunph,

Got up today and I was finally at 114.5  so the increased calories on those active days really did help......and I kept it to the alloted calories on the non-active days...looks like it is working...hope it helped for you.

I agree with playergirl. Slimquick is stupid. Losing weight the natural way is the only thing to do. Injecting mysterious drugs into your body may make you look thinner, but it won't make you healthier, and in that way, one of the major goals of weight loss is lost.

wow, you guys need to calm down. ok. Some people actually find that wieghtloss supplements are helpful. No one is advocating eating disorders. Weightloss drugs are not illegal, and I didn't see her pushing anything on anyone it was merely a suggestion. I'm sure the OP can make her own choices.

Sublimelife087,

Thank you so very much for coming to my rescue.....I was wondering why some of the posters were so judgmental.....I'm so glad you saw my point as I was feeling like I was being attacked.

no prob. people on here can get pretty hostile I've been the victim myself a few times. lol ; )

Well after several days of taking in 200 more calories than usual, I'm still at 113 today.  I figure I'll stay at this amount because I have a little bit more energy and I'm not gaining anyway.  We'll see how another week of sl. increased calories goes.      &nbs p;   These last 3lbs are kicking my butt!!!

edunph....that is good news!!!!!  Maybe it will take our body a couple of days to get used to this way of eating....my husband who is an avid body builder says I need to eat atleast  2000 calories during active days...i said that is way to much food for me.  So it looks like your on the right track........still wavering between 114.5 and 115.5 (LOL atleast it is below that 116 point.)  I sooo would love to see 113 or 112.

Hey guys - I just discouvered this thread as I'm realizing that pretty soon it is going to be time to maintain, not lose. I'm currently fluctuating between 112 - 115 and really dream of being 105 - 110. The problem is, at 5'3", I still look flabby and have dimple bum/thigh. Right now, I'm getting off of a week-long vacation where I did nothing and ate everything so I am closer to 115 and hate myself.

Like most of you, I'd be thrilled to be a toned, maintained, 110lbs.

I'm eating a pretty steady 1200 cals/day right now (20% fat/30% protein/50% carbs - mostly from vegetables - 2 - 3 servings of whole grains also), extra if I do intense exercise or hiking, etc. Haven't been doing much exercise, besides power walking, however I've just recently started boot camp (45 mins) for 3x/week and jogs on 3 other days with crunches... we'll see what that does.

Thinking about something like Hydroxycut or Ever Cleanse to try and shead the last few, but I already have ED-like behavior / thoughts and am afraid it might trigger something worse.

Any suggestions?
