A few months ago at a party I had some amazing fluffy fruit dip - it was kind of like thickened cool whip. I asked what was in it and was told cream cheese and powdered sugar. However when I searched for recipes and tried to make something similar myself, the dip comes out to the consistency of salad dressing - runny and not fluffy at all! I am not adding any liquid, it just seems like the whole thing dissolves into a liquid when I beat it (per recipe instructions)
Does anyone have any good recipes for a nice fruit dip that is not runny, or some tips on making one? No yogurt please!
Thanks!
I bet what you has was a block of cream cheese mixed with a jar of marshmallow fluff. I don't think they make light fluff, however you could use light or free cream cheese probably.
I have a very old recipe somewhere that uses instant vanilla pudding (sugar free is fine) combined with Cool Whip. Give me some time to dig it out.
Found it!
1 6 oz pkg sugar free instant vanilla pudding
1 12 oz container fat free frozen whipped topping
Thaw the topping and beat in the pudding mix until fluffy. Refrigerate for at least 15 minutes before serving.
